This is the sort of sound I use the Text to Wavetable function in Vital for.

do you mind sharing the preset with us mere mortals please?
I don't have that preset anymore. A couple months back I went looking for it and didn't find it.

Are we 100% sure that Matt is working on Serum 2 or is it just urban legend? As someone else asked earlier...."Proof?"

Teksonik wrote: Mon Mar 10, 2025 10:54 pmI found a quote from Matt from 2023 but nothing recent. So to me it seems more abandoned than under current development.
Perhaps you can share the quote.
I asked you to share your quote first.

I found the quote I mentioned on the Vital forums. I'm not going to waste time looking for it again. What I didn't find is any recent activity from Matt. I'm not saying there isn't any activity elsewhere such as Discord which I find to be utter visual chaos just that I have not found any recent indication that development of Vital is ongoing.
I don't have a quote, which is why I spoke of it in terms of a memory. I never claimed my memory was correct, and I didn't make any objective claims. The response I got was the direct claim of lies and abandonware.

I don't think I've soent more than 30 minutes at Vital support forums, but I still saw quite a few of your posts. It surprises me you'd have had to go looking for the specific quote rather than remember, in the same way as I believe. I'm sure we're referencing exactly the same info from Matt.

I always find it odd when a dev disappears into the ether. Not that they really owe you anything beyond what you paid for. But if I released a popular product and had to pause support or further development for whatever reason I can't imagine just going silent instead of taking a few seconds to write a tweet to let people know, unless I was going through some kind of personal hell.

This is somewhat encouraging-re Matt and Vital. A year old but it’s something

well, two years old post, actually

As long as the text to wavetable functions hasn't been shut off yet, I don't think we can call Vital abandoned. Matt hast to pay every time someone uses it.

Doesn't Serum also have text to wavetable functionality? How does it differ from how Vital does it?

Serum doesn't have this feature. You can type words into the formula editor but it doesn't really ever sound good, nowhere near as clear as the one in Vital.

If Matt can't continue with the project, he should sell it to someone who may be interested (if anyone is), or even donate it. It was a fantastic v1, but it could've been more. A v2 probably would've felt "finished".

Hopefully, if he ever decides to stop developing it, he will do exactly that/

What exactly do you mean by donate? What would he be donating.
