Keygroup FX arer per voice FX which means that each FX on keygroup level will be processed for each voice, so usualy you don't want FX with tails or very CPU expensive FX. Send from keygroup onto AUX FX might a way to achieve the same results or use a layer per keygroup.

Yeah, it's great for complex stuff. If you come away from it for 6 months you forget how it works though. You have to learn it again.PeterBPL wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2024 10:21 pm I've had this synth for a while and I have mixed feelings about it. It's definitely a great plugin for someone who likes to have complex tool for creating sounds (like me). But I simply don't believe that this is just 3rd major version of this synth, and there are still a lot of strange bugs and solutions - it really looks like it was designed by "we know best" type developers who ignores any users' opinions. Drag&drop doesn't exist where it supposed to work. No control over ADSR or LFO outside the Keygroup section. Some effects are impossible to put into the Keygroup section (so for example creating a sound in which you first apply distortion and then dynamically filter - impossible, because distortion works only in the layer or top section, and dynamic control of the ADSR-based filter is only possible in the Keygroup section). The plug-in can't remember the target directory when saving presets and keeps pointing me to the desktop. There is a mess in the preset files - relative and absolute paths mixed up, the preset name doesn't always update in the file, etc. I can now hang Falcon in two cases, and in a few others the sound "stuck" and I had to save and load the preset again. Adding an effect using the drag&drop method causes the effect window to jump to the top (even though I'm adding the effect at the bottom). The equalizer stopped working once and I had to add it again. Some effects can kill the CPU. Plus some more bugs I don't remember right now.
Don't get me wrong - this is a very good synth, but in my opinion not worth its price (even the promo price). After a $300 synth I expected at least more interesting effects (and I'm not talking about adding a fifth or sixth average-sounding chorus) and a little better workflow. I will definitely play around with Falcon a lot more, because it's a very nice tool, but the super enthusiastic opinions are imo a bit exaggerated. I hope it will be developed and more polished.
It's just my opinion.

1. I know that some effects may be CPU intensive, but Falcon can drain CPU even without using effects in keygroup section, so in fact it supposed be up to user if he wants or not using some effects.otristan wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 12:27 pm Keygroup FX arer per voice FX which means that each FX on keygroup level will be processed for each voice, so usualy you don't want FX with tails or very CPU expensive FX. 2. But in fact I don't need to use some effects each voice, I want to process them global, but have possibility (like in PhasePlant) to control it using ENV ADSR, DAHDSR etc. So please give me an example how can I add "Guitar Boxes" and then "Digital Filter" after that I may control (that filter) using ADSR etc. How can I force ADSR, DAHDSR etc. to work in Layer level? I don't care if they will process signal global and not every voice separately, I just want them to work. And I was looking on internet and realized that I am not the only one who was trying to use ADSR on layer level. But if it's somehow possible - I would be happy to learn how.

If you want to trigger those with an ADSR which is per voice, you probably want something per voice unless you are thinking about some legato behaviour.

You know exactly what I mean. Keyzone is section that works per voice, but ADSR may work different depends on section. Somehow many other synths are able to work with ADSR for FX section (which is not per voice) and Falcon - don't. Falcon allows adding ADSR to other sections, even if it's not working - it's very confusing.otristan wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 7:32 am If you want to trigger those with an ADSR which is per voice, you probably want something per voice unless you are thinking about some legato behaviour.

i am very happy with Falcon after subscribing to the soundpass. Falcon really seems made to be used with their libraries.
that said, had a weird issue yesterday with a preset from Fluidity expansion for Falcon. it doesn't seem that intensive but just one instance of it basically maxed out my CPU. it was strange.

You can achieve this by triggering the adsr using a keygroup level parameter with a ratio of 0 so it’s a no op.(it’s mentionned in the forum history) the main issue here is that by default adsr do not handle legato triggering. Something tricky to add in the engine. Still some people actually wanted a per voice FX hence my question.PeterBPL wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 9:31 amYou know exactly what I mean. EDIT: I found the method on KVR forum (a little better described). Overcomplicated and have not very much sense, but works. Not for all modulators and not fully, but works somehow. Maybe in the future it will work better and simpler? Allowing MIDI triggering ADSR in any layer should not be a very big problem.

I am wondering if anyone who is experienced with this vst can help me out. I got it today and was working in it but suffered a crash (a few actually) mostly I think caused by console 1. However after the last crash all my presets didn't reload, I had even saved multis and programs but only the stock sounds seem to load. Also one even loaded empty. Worse I couldn't interface with any of the knobs or save load programs etc.. it was all locked out. This is in FL Studio. I can start a new project and load falcon but if I reload it I can't change any settings (and the sounds are the default ones rather than the saved presets). This totally ruined my session today and I am hoping to find a solution to unlock the 5 instances of falcon I have in the project so that I can try to fix the audio. I've contacted UVI but it could be a while until I get any type of reply so I am hoping people that have high praises for this and have experience may have encountered this bug and know a solution to fix it. I normally would expect a plugin to work out of the box but the inability to use after reopening a project and losing your settings is a pretty massive bug.
This is version 3.7.11
Also it may be important to note I think I had some stuff installed via FL Cloud, but purchased the full license with expansions and they are on my ilok. Also this is with the synth anthology 4 which I also have as an ilok full license. I am not sure if some stuff is also subscription licensed with fl cloud. A bunch of stuff fails to load at the beginning I assumed they were fl cloud subscriptions that won't load into the full licensed versions. Not entirely sure what is going on.

It's only guessing, but for me it's some license problem. Last time I saw similar problem it was on my friend's computer. My friend is a little bit paranoid and trying to block everything using firewall or using his computer not connected to internet at all (he is not a pirate, he just afraid of everything). So first I want to ask - do you have full access to your FL-Studio? All plugins are loaded into FL-Studio and uses its connection to communicate to external world. If you're trying to block your DAW for some security reasons - that may be a problem. But of course it's only guessing based on my experience with other users. Also - I assume that you do basic stuff like reinstalling Falcon etc.

I cannot figure out how to actually assign the y parameter (MPE) to any control in Falcon (e.g. filter cut-off) when I try to create my own MPE patches. MPE y works fine with the Falcon MPE presets. But when I set up a new patch and include the script processor node for MPE, I can see that Falcon receives the y signal, the orange line is moving. But then if I want to modulate any value in an oscillator or fx by right clicking on the knob which controls the parameter and click "add modulation" and pick "new script event modulation" and set the Event id to 1 as shown in the Venus Theory Tutorial on Youtube, it does not perform the modulation. I have tried all variations to set up the script processor and script event modulation on part level, or program level or layer level, but none worked. Unfortunately there is no description how to fully set up MPE in the manual. If any of you got this to work, I would be thankful for a hint what I might do wrong.
I use Falcon within Ableton Live and my MPE controller is an Ableton Push.

does anyone know how i can modulate a parameter in reverse?
i can modulate a parameter from 1 to 127 but i don't know how to do this from 127 to 1
what do i have to change?
