Are you still happy and satisfied with your Syntakt?

No reliability or other issues?

Is there a reason for the large number of Syntakts for sale?

I sold mine last year, but not because I was unhappy with it. It worked fine and sounded great, but I just felt like it was stuck in no-man’s land between my Analog RYTM mk2 and Digitakt 2 and it wasn’t getting any use. Syntakt is obviously a different machine than these two, but for the sounds I typically want to make, the RYTM mk2 and Digitakt have me covered and are much better for me.

I think Elektron would be wise to allow sample storage on the Syntakt, if possible, via a firmware update. It’s already got a 1GB hard drive that’s largely empty, so why not make use of all that empty space? I don’t think it would cannablize sales of their other products, since Syntakt is already its own beast, and allowing samples would open it up to a whole new world of possibilities and probably revitalize sales (I’d definitely consider buying it again).

I understand, it's a bit of a duplication in some ways.

Elektron tends to really lock down its products, and therefore, I'm not sure they'll add this feature.

Just like adding the perform kit function, it would be really great, but I doubt it.

But hey, who knows, maybe one day...

I’m hopeful, but also not counting on it.

Otherwise, on the Elektronauts boards, there’s the Science Labs that have been fun as a challenge. I’m getting new life from Syntakt by pushing machines to do things they were not intended for.

Looks like my wish is finally coming true - new update about to drop that includes a sample machine…

The update was leaked as happening today, but no more.

Elektron says in several weeks!

But, some form of samples are coming.

Are you going to get another Syntakt?

Oh, good to know!

I'm not sure. I sold off every drum machine/groovebox I owned (except my Maschine+) when I got my TR-1000, but now I sorta miss having an Elektron box around, so I'm definitely going to reconsider it. The worst part is, I just saw one for sale here locally for $600 a few weeks ago and probably would've snagged it if I had known this update was coming!

It would be really cool if the update could include the Perform Kit, a mega top addition if that's the case.

Did Elektron ever include "Kits" for Syntakt, like in RYTM? I haven't followed the updates since I sold mine.

Perform Kit just like in the Digitone 2.

An arpeggiator would be great too.

Kits would be a huge addition, as would an arpeggiator, but neither are dealbreakers AFAIC. Regardless, I'm pretty certain I'm about to buy another one once the support for samples is confirmed.
