Is Thomann reliable?

(I hope I post it in the right place).
I want to buy a Linnstrument from Thomann store, and wondering whether they are trustworthy.
Have you bought musical instruments from Thomann and what was your experience with them?
I don't have an opportunity to try out the instrument beforehand, so if it doesn't suit my needs, I want to know how they handle returns.
I'm also a little worried about the delivery. Can it happen that the instrument is damaged during delivery? Or any other problems with the delivery?
I have never bought an expensive musical instrument online, is it a good idea or should I visit the store?
I considered visiting, but they are located in a small village that is hard to get to.

They're one of the biggest music retailers in Europe. Basically like Europe's version of Sweetwater in the US. So yes. They're reliable.

I've bought synth modules from them, delivered to the UK and they've arrived fine, well boxed etc. Obviously they can't be responsible if there's damage enroute but it seems others have had good experiences with their customer service in cases like this.

I bought online from them a few times and my overall experience has been positive.
I had to contact their support only two times, once for a defective item and another time something missing in the package... unfortunately sometimes these things may happen, but they sorted it out quickly and in a professional way.
By the way, occasionally I had some defective items from my local store as well... As much as I don't enjoy it when it happens, what actually matters is how well they handle those situations.
(I kept making purchases both from Thomann and from my local shop, in case you're guessing).

Yes.
Better than many US places.
Beware the potential tariffs and import fees.
Returns can be a challenge and pricey.

I've had good experience with them, but Synthax said that my Thomann purchased RME Babyface isn't covered by Synthax's UK warranty.

If you visit https://www.thomann.de then you will get the international website.Irusia wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 9:29 am There are different country domains. Are they all legit?
Can I order from thomann.pl (I'm in Poland) or only from thomann.de?
On the top right is a flag icon to change language / country. If you set it to Polish and save, you will get redirected to the thomann.pl website.
Question: would the official website redirect customers to a non-legit (pirated/copied? ) website?
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Possibly. In the past I've encountered things that are redirected and not legit from Brazil, Columbia, Italy and certain USA states such as Florida and Utah. Hackers may have been involved and certain countries do not police these actions. Other times, they're "fly-by-night" - "hit and run" operations. Always best to do some due diligence before clicking the buy button.BertKoor wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 1:39 pmIf you visit https://www.thomann.de then you will get the international website.Irusia wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 9:29 am There are different country domains. However, I've not had those problems with Thomann. The one time I did have an issue with something I bought, they actually contacted the company for me and got it resolved quickly.

If your country doesnt use the same wall-power plug shape as germany, then be prepared to potentially have to buy a plug adaptor, different lead or even psu.
But that's the only 'issue' Ive had, and its not confined to Thomann. In fact I just bought summat from UK amazon and it had a deutchish 2-pin plug on it.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."
