Really good update in my opinion, never was a big fan of the original and its 2osc/1vcf structure, although the sound was already great. I'm pretty happy about the free update, otherwise the 189 Bucks I spend in 2018, would have been a dead investment.

Authorization doesn't seem to work atm, it claims my password is invalid ad the next time I try I can login but Serum 2 doesn't authorize.

It's a solid update with some nice new features and improvements to the GUI. But I think I'm a victim of my own unreasonable expectations here, because I'd got it into my head that this was going to be a Massive to Massive X type of evolution of its sound, but really it's more like Pigments to Pigments 6. Which is still cool, but it's basically still the same synth but with added features and refinements. And that's probably what most people wanted.

Is anyone else having authorization issues?
Been trying for over 12 hours and always stuck with same issue;

" I have disabled my firewall, VPN, Malwarebytes and tried multiple browsers but still no access to the plugin even though my account says it's authorized.
I have even deleted the authorization and when i authorize again it adds an authorization to my account but there is never a confirmation page that confirms authorization when the plugin links to authorization and instead the link always runs into the local host errors (different types) or site down etc. And again even though my account created a fresh activation the plugin itself is still asking for authorization and there is no means to try an offline activation "

All resolution suggestions are welcome as I expect Xfer are overwhelmed at the moment

Am I correct in saying that Splice “Rent To Own” subscribers with an Active (not paid in full) account can’t currently install the full Serum 2 yet?

I’ve also looked to pay off the remainder (of my 16 months) but the option isn’t currently available.

Serum has had MPE support for ages. It is unchanged in Serum 2.

I've never tried Serum before. This Serum 2 looks very similar to Pigments. Does it do anything better/easier than Pigments?

I am a big fan of Pigments and they can look similar on the surface but they feel very different to use. It's hard to put into words and one does not replace the other imho. :hug:

I'd download the trial and see for yourself. easier/better can be subjective to each person.

My first impressions compared to pigments :

- Serum is more CPU intensive
- So far Pigments does "analog" character better
- for me the GUI for sample oscillators is better on pigments
- FX chains can be more complex on Serum
- Serum has clips+Arp with the ability to change scenes on the fly, Pigments has seq and Arp.
