I've tried to purchase twice via paypal and the Serum site crashes when returning to merchant. 2 pending payments now from my Paypal account and no Serum licence in my account.

Yay, a new thread for a new release, instead of the usual confusing crap. Thanks for making this, OP.

The synth has a softness to the sound that I really like. You can actually load the Serum 2 wavetables into Bitwig using the built-in wavetable oscillator. Bitwig does ok but sounds a bit harsher than Serum 2. Not sure if that's a quality thing or if Serum has some built-in filtering.
Has anyone compared to other wavetable synths like Phase Plant or Hive? I wonder if you can import the serum wavetables into those plugins too.
Also, since it comes with Serum 2 FX you can compare wavetable synths with the exact same effects.

ok, got the tip that i also have to install the vst. now it works. strange that i have the option to not install the vst during installation… never had this with any other plugin but ok.audio/fault wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 6:06 pm mh, i was really looking forward to test serum (2 now of course) after work (never tried it before but heard lots of good things). installed the au... and it can't be opened in neither logic (doesn't pass au-validation) nor ableton live (says it's incompatible).
mac mini m2, mac os 15.3.2, logic 11.1.2, live 12.1.10
is this a bug? is it just me? haven't read anything about it here or anywhere else. strange and actually a little disappointing. can't remember a similar issue with another plugin (though I didn't installed a demo in ages, only full versions/updates).

Wsp filter resonance has an unstable pitch at 100%. But then sometimes it stabilizes.
If I do the default patch, add a Wsp filter, put it's cutoff to 720, resonance to 100%, and drive to 42, it sounds like the pitch of the resonant peak is fluctuating when I hit most notes. But when I hit a D1 note the fluctuations only happen for a few seconds then the pitch stabilizes. The pitch doesn't seem to stabilize with notes other than D1.
I'm unsure if this is intentional, and I actually kind of like the random pitch fluctuation as well as the sound when it stabilizes, it sounds cool. I just wish I could quantify this behavior to take advantage of it when making patches.

Serum2 CR-Dongle Software is a dealbreaker and very bad for future use.
Fortunately there exists Icarus3 and Vital etc. which are userfriendly and have even a better soundquality and is no dongle software.

Ah yes, magically the synth that someone hasn't even used (because of the CR software) has worse sound quality. If it sounds worse, I'd think that would be the dealbreaker instead of CR software.
Self-awareness is important, folks.
edit: CR software, not "dongle". Dongle is physical hardware.
