Title about says it. I am going to demo it, but my time is limited, sale is on now, so I’m asking for your experience with it. It seems to have some unique features, but there’s been very little noise about it since release - considering that clipping is the seemingly hot topic these days. Thanks for your input!

Softube's clipper has a few cool features. There's RMS clipping (which isn't actually that novel of a concept, it's just spreading clipping out over an RMS window) which I've tried before and sounds distinct, but I'm not sure how often I'd use it in an actual mix.
They have an even-ordered harmonics generator tied to the RMS stage; their self-admittedly cheesy sounding "Analog Color", which could possibly make RMS clipping a bit more appealing.
According to the manual, for the peak filter in particular, it uses antiderivative anti-aliasing like apShaper & Newfangled Saturate, making them one of the few companies to incorporate this critically important technology that gives them a clear advantage over 95% of other clippers. (At least those trying to be clear of aliasing)
It also uses "higher order harmonics filtering" which I don't know anything about.
Finally, it uses minimum phase oversampling using elliptical filters. Dunno if you can disable it, I'm guessing not though since oversampling is (practically) required for ADAA to work. I dislike elliptical filters in general, unfortunate choice but a common one.
The RMS stage uses "proprietary techniques" to limit aliasing as opposed to what I described in the peak stage, which I'm cautiously interested in. Wish they'd go into even a bit of detail on that, otherwise it's just a "trust me bro"
Imo it's a valid choice, I stay clear of iLok products though.

I only tested the trial version and wasn't that much "impressed". Well, it's a clipper, it's sounds clean, so it was okay for me. But I didn't ended up buying it for 79€. What I bought instead a few weeks ago, is Newfangled Audio Saturate. Currently at 19€. That thing sounds surprisingly really good to me, even if you push it hard.

Hope that helps. Just a personal opinion, I'm not a professional audio engineer.

Thanks to both!
I won’t get to try it until the weekend. I like Softube in general, but not everything from them. I was just finding it strange that it’s so quiet around the Clipper - maybe that’s telling right there, either it’s nothing special and everyone has one they like already, or it’s so amazing that users want to keep it a secret - not likely…

In the end I went with Newfangled Saturate. Clipper was too obvious with not much clipping. I had previously tried kclip and that wasn’t to my liking either. Will have to workout Saturate for a bit, good price right now though.

Cant go wrong with Newfangled, its a fantastic clipper, if used wisely, you wont need a lot more clippers than that. (Trust me, i tried a lot... :P ) Also still using StandardClip for some very gentle clipping though, but mainly cause of its ease of use.

Thanks, certainly seemed the best choice from all that I tried.

There is a promo for clipper by softube , I wonder if it’s interesting.

I've tried pretty much every clipper out there and keep going back to Standard Clip.
“In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.”

Which plugin are you referring to? If it's a clipper, there are so many out there now, and yeah, clipping has become a hot topic in mastering and mixing. If it's got unique features, that’s definitely worth checking out. What kind of material are you planning to use it on—drums, mix bus, mastering? If you're short on time, maybe compare it with something you already use to see if it really brings something new to the table.

As I said above, I went with Newfangled Saturate.
Of course, I did demo Clipper…I like Softube and use a lot of their plugins, wasn’t so impressed with Clipper in the end.
