Yeah me too.
Me three. That features is one of the best things about vital. The random amp and smear modes are so perfect for the sort of atmospheric pads I make. Still, I think resynthesising a cool patch into the spectral oscillator will be fun.

Fortunately there exists Icarus3 and Vital etc. which are userfriendly and have even a better soundquality and is no dongle software.
Good for you! :tu:

Just tried it on macos/Bitwig (latest version) and dragging and dropping from Finder works fine also. I haven't installed Sononym on my laptop yet so can't try that.

Which daw are you using?
enCiphered wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:53 pm Hello guys, how are you? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I tried dragging samples from Sononym or my Finder/Explorer into Serum 2, and they don't load. Please don't tell me that importing samples is the only option!
Ah! That's great, thanks for checking! I'm using the latest version of Bitwig Studio, and this isn't possible.

I managed to update early while the website was still shitting itself and I've noticed my donation was never taken from my bank account, even though I went through the PayPal steps. I don't see any way to try again. As it stands, the $129 I spent in 2014 might be the best value I've had with any paid plugin/company. Might have to go purchase LFO tool or something.

i have tried with different sfz files. it reads from some and not from some others.

Same here! It took me a while to figure out they weren't available, and I got sad. But then played with some of the crazy modulation in the spectral oscillator it was happy.

Department store indeed.

I wish each bus could route a secondary signal into the other bus. I keep running into issues with this. Right now I want to put an effects chain on the signal (using Bus 1), then I'd like for this signal to both go to the main outs AND go to the second bus where there's a delay. I'm doing it this way because I want to automate the send volume into the delay with an envelope to emphasize certain parts of the sound.

This could be possible by either adding some sort of input gain knob on the delay plugin itself (that is completely separate from the mix knob) or by giving the buses those circular "bus" knobs in addition to the dropdown that gives an output destination.

Man, I'm digging this thing. As someone who makes a lot of trap, both EDM and rap, being able to throw 808 samples into a Serum wavetable position and beef them up and distort them with all the effects from Serum 1 is a game changer. Hopefully you couldn't do this in Serum 1 or I'd look like a fool. LOL! Shout out to Steve Duda, the goat.

Just scratching the surface, but so far I think this update looks amazing!! The new engines are superb! 3 of them now with an extra filter - perfect!! The GUI is spot on too. I do wish aftertouch as a mod source was visible on the GUI like Velocity.

8 macros, I hate it. why not 16, or 64 macros? Or just kill us sound designers now?? lol. ;)

One of the best updates I've seen and puts Serum in the top of of list of best synths now. Some NON-EDM sound banks coming soon!! :)

You couldn't play samples in Serum 1, but you could use the FX as an effects plugin on any other instrument. So if all you're doing is playing a sample and putting some effects on, then yeah you could do that in Serum 1.

But even ignoring the new effects added, I'd argue that being able to frequency split the effects is a pretty big deal. This isn't impossible to do otherwise, but usually requires either a dedicated plugin or quite a bit of effort.

Serum 1 played samples just fine in the noise oscillator which was/is actually a sample player.

i think i will still let Serum 1 also in my folder but seperately.

thats why i might wanna copy my whole Serum 1 Preset folder incl tables etc. as a new SERUM 2 preset folder. but somehow i am too stupid to find the option to point serum 2 to my user folder? does anyone know? in serum 1 you can do it to a custom location.

Someone might have already mentioned this, but I just discovered that in the pattern and clip piano roll editors, you can draw in pitch bends like the micro-pitch expression feature in Bitwig! Hell yeah!! To do this, toggle the button with the three nodes connected by lines at the lower right of the piano roll.

You can make the connecting line curved by alt-dragging on the line.
