There have been some home appliances with a retro look, and I thought it would be amusing to have a MIDI controller that looked like it came from the American 1950s (but now I'm thinking one with a Bakelite chassis and 30's or 40's styling would also be cool -- heck, why can't we have Art Deco MIDI controllers?!!! [edit: or maybe something with a more Brutalist aesthetic]).

Too expensive to develop and ship vs. market size.

You'd need to pay someone for a custom 1-off controller.

Because midi controllers disappear into closets of man caves. They have no place in a trendy kitchen.

But feel free to collect an old home organ for free from yer local CraigsList, gut out the interiors, and put in the intestins of a modern midi controller.

How about a Korg SV-2

I think it fits description, round shapes like 50's cars were etc.

And vacuum tubes, again. Korg is out of control.
I hate signatures too.
