Perhaps SonicPass isn't doing as well as expected.

My guess is that SonicPass is doing everything they wanted it to do and is not going anywhere

This just provides UVI with yet another revenue stream. If you already own Falcon and a a few Soundware libraries for it you are not very likely to subscribe to SonicPass, but you might drop $399 to buy Falcon again along with all the Soundwares

For me I own Falcon. I got it years ago on the cheap as part of a big sale. A few times a year I subscribe for a month or two to SonicPass and use an Autosampler to sample the crap out of what I want

I don't own much UVI stuff (Augmented Piano only, I think) and the intro price is $500 to me. Not a bad deal but it's an interesting question of Omnisphere vs. UVI Bundle at that price.

Depends on what all you currently have and what holes in your tools ya need to fill.

I own all Spectrasonics main products, keyspace, omnishpere 2.8, trillion, stylus rtx expanded. I personally love omnisphere and use it and enjoy it. However if I didn’t own it the UVI bundle would be a greater value as you get synths, plugin fx, sample libraries, falcon. It’s a better value of stuff. If you want/need those things.

I used to work with a bunch of musicians that all had different rigs and products so for me iit was worth it to have all the stuff my buddies had to work with them effortlessly when we sent tracks back and forth. That was then. So I have a lot of stuff and upgrades to current versions is much cheaper for me than a new user purchase.

Again I love specrtrasonics and omnishepere but it’s long times for updates, bit long in the tooth at this point and expensive. You can get other synths or this UVI bundle and cover similar teratory sound wise of omnisphere or newer fresher sounds.

Alll depends on what your needs are, what type of music you create and what your budget is.

Omnisphere is a single mega synth like Falcon that support a wide range of synthesis methods.
They can both be expanded via add ons.

The UVI acoustic sample libraries in this bundle can also be opened in Falcon.
So you are getting a much larger pool of deeply sampled acoustic instruments to play with.
Plus there is a large range of sampled electronic keyboards that can be used in Falcon, as well as all its other native synthesis methods.

Omni supports Hardware Synth Integration which is a differentiator.
I suspect that the Omni factory library whilst much smaller, might well be more accessible.

I think this is a fair deal, I bought Falcon and other staff for 300 USD before, I got 300 USD discount.

UVI deserves the support and the last two years I have been actually waiting and hoping for an all inclusive pack. Generally, I don't like subscriptions, I prefer one-off payment.

That's a great deal.
And UVI is a company that actually cares for the customers and gives exceptional support.
I once mentioned here that a very old freeware instrument I liked had problems in the most recent Falcon and they gave me a debugged version of the soundbank one day later and it was a weekend....

The factory library in Omnisphere while smaller than the entire UVI package is still really large for a single plugin and much larger than what comes with Falcon

It's also full of unusual things that work really well as the basis of a Sample and Synthesis (AKA Rompler) patch rather than just a bunch of samples of other instruments

I've had Falcon for years. The new browser in 3.1 looks like a gamechanger. Very easy to maneuver.

Questiion:
I would like to get the rest of the bundle as I have a substantial discount. However, trying to use UVI Portal in the last day or so just to update some of my other UVI expansions has been very painful. (My Native Instruments Access is working very well, so it doesn't appear to be on my end.) Is anyone else having this issue with UVI? Is their site just swamped, causing download problems? Thoughts?

"manual downloads" What does this mean? is it possible to download the content directly from the website without using the Portal? If so, how do you activate--can that be done directly on the website as well?

afaik you cannot download everything manually/from the website directly... so you have to use the portal
