Alright! Maybe get inspired and make us a cool granular plugin along those lines, I would pay big $$ for it, no probAudiority wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 1:27 pmMorphagene is a beast! If anyone has ever used something like the morphagene, you'll know what I'm talking about, listen to something by vurt where he uses it, it sounds nothing like the typical granular we all know. To me granular is the realm of the sampler, anything else is just a fancy delay.
afaik, there is no SW equivalent of the HW grain samplers, and all SW samplers fall short of the morphagene or even something like my Rossum Assimil8or (which can fake granular thru sheer muscle).
Anyway, it's all good. I will continue to await my desired SW sampler...
What's you favourite real time Granular effect?

He’s a great developer for sure and a nice guy,Ah_Dziz wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 8:06 pm Soundhack (the guy that developed Morphagene) has some awesome plugins, including a granular delay.
his plugins don’t really fit the bill here tho imo, I have all of them myself, for years.

xpo/qpas combo in to morphagene then mimeophon.

Thats pretty cool, thanks for posting. Definitely you can hear a lot of variation that I think would
be difficult with the current field of granular plugins. I was thinking of some of the early stuff
you made when you first got the morphagene as well, before the mimeophon, IIRC it was some really cool sample manipulation where the core sample was still recognizable, but stretched, looped
and overdubbed in interesting ways.
That's kinda what I'm looking for, variable rate sample playback with scrubbing, overdub and
multiple variable grain spawn points, all at the same time, if that makes any sense...

The concept looks similar. I have to test it and see. What’s great about Morphagene is the reels and splices management. I’ll use it for an upcoming video soon, to make a reversed counter-rhythm for a plugin update demo

i´d guess, with "real time granular" was realtime audio FXing meant, and not sample play, right ?
i´m a sucker on this. But kept away from Morphagene and others - euro. ( by reason)
Never dived into the VCV rack units. There might be some gems ?

I love VCV Rack. Well worth the price for the Pro version, and I've picked up quite a few modules along the way, though I haven't really used it as an effect processor yet. Only effects on synth patches that I've built.Funky40 wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 10:52 pmi like that question, hahazerocrossing wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:38 pm

same for me !zerocrossing wrote: Sun Mar 30, 2025 4:16 pm I love VCV Rack. Well worth the price for the Pro version, and I've picked up quite a few modules along the way,
i use it ONLY as a FX machine !zerocrossing wrote: Sun Mar 30, 2025 4:16 pm .........though I haven't really used it as an effect processor yet. Only effects on synth patches that I've built.
i never patch anything Synth/instrument patch specific. With the expetion of some small tests.
....Time....time....time ?
the potential to patch custom FX patches is immens.
Not to underestimate is when we start to CC map things out to HW, how much we can diverge vs. how HW-FX Boxes would work. Often enough lies the secrets within how we "can" access the parameters, vs. what manual jam-potentials we can have, there.

I've still never used VCV even once, still can't get interested in SW modular systems when I have a $20k HW modular laying around.
