Absolutely! My garage looks like a pawn shop from the mid/late '90s right now. I also have an Alpha Juno 2 (repairing for a friend), a Sound Craft Spirit Studio LC, a Unitor 8, a pair of Event 20/20s and 2 Alesis HD24's in there.ghettosynth wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 6:34 pm That list feels like I just walked into the local consignment music shop circa 1995.

Yeah, I'll probably sample a bunch of stuff but it depends on how much time I have. Just getting everything catalogued and tested has been a huge task. I need to finish my own music at some point, lol!vurt wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 7:20 pm ooh mirage!
nice list of old classics really, as stated above, sample the shit out of it!

I don’t know if you’re up to repairing an SP-12 (and I don’t know if shipping across the country makes sense for this beast) but if interested and shipping makes sense, please let me know. Paid work, not asking for freebies.justin3am wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 8:24 pmYeah, I'll probably sample a bunch of stuff but it depends on how much time I have. Obviously, I have not looked around much here in NYC. I always feel like there are too many scams and scammy folks that I prefer not to even look. I’m sure I’m missing something easy though.

I can likely repair it but shipping costs/risks and scheduling would probably make it impractical. I'd recommend contacting CONTROL and ask them if they can recommend any techs near by.
The problem is, even a reputable tech can become unreliable if life throws them a curve ball. I've seen it happen to a lot of people who try to keep their business going when they should have thrown in the towel... I don't typically charge for repairs (just the cost of parts) because I'm too busy with other work to be get stuff done in reasonable time. My buddy's Alpha Juno 2 has been sitting for almost a year, while I wait for a good deal on the parts he needs.

Es la verdad. Brit has been my best friend for 27+ years, since we were in school. We do everything together.

Good idea… I’ll give them a call.justin3am wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:08 pmI can likely repair it but shipping costs/risks and scheduling would probably make it impractical. I'd recommend contacting CONTROL and ask them if they can recommend any techs near by.

And I can understand that.

Absolute unit of a quad delay:
https://xaocdevices.com/main/samarkanda/
It looks a lot friendlier to me than Rainmaker, and I'm sure it's fun to play with. I'm intrigued... but I also don't feel like I need it, and opening up that much HP would be difficult. (If I could do that, I'd probably have long since tried a Rene.)

Yeah, I was reading about that earlier. I think I'd need to start a new case to justify it but I love a good set of delay lines. I feel like a case with a Samarkanda and a Cwejman QMMF would be bonkers.foosnark wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:40 pm Absolute unit of a quad delay:

I really want one of those.
A custom, maybe even DIY case seems likely in my future. I’d love to have space for this, plus an extra Bruxa and extra Multimod. Then there’s always something else, but playable delays are too much fun.

Indeed. Checkout the manual for this... it would definitely work well with that combo. Key word there, being 'playable'. So cool! May make it happen.elxsound wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 11:38 pm I really want one of those.

Sinds I’ve recently added a Novation Summit synth, Arturia FX collection and UAD EL8 Distressor, I’m feeling that I don’t need anyrhing new to produce the things I want.
So stick to the things that I already have and buy upgrades only if they provide functions I really need.
