The finish on yours looks a lot nicer than mine did in any case, lol.

Bit of a waste they didn’t include a powered USB host port.seafire wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 6:18 amNot sure I understand. The midi kybd only has a USB input/output, which is the big one, not the slim rectangular one, same as the cv/midi module.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 5:31 amI thought that Behringer module will act as a class compliant USB host so if you have the right lead shouldn’t it work letting you use pitch and gate outs from the module?seafire wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 6:03 pm I realised my new (ish) little midi kybd doesn't have midi out, only usb, so will need a diff kybd (prob a Swing, it's cheap). Had to manually trigger envs.
Basically I can plug the PC into the module and sequence that way, or use the din midi from my audio interface.
Edit: OK, I get you. Yes, it does work like that, it's just that my small midi controller won't physically connect to it, so I have to use the PC or my old controller (which is too big, so I never use it)
There are a bunch of USB to DIN MIDI leads available if your MIDI controller doesn’t need to be powered over USB but most do so probably not an option.

Well, last night I tried getting midi into the modular with no luck.
Midi kybd into cp1a with midi cable- nothing (kybd is 20+ years old, and I have never used its midi port, so who knows)
Midi from pc via USB, then interface, then midi cable to cp1a - nothing
Usb into usb of cp1a - nothing
Very frustrating. It's just not triggering cv/gate. Will order a Swing today, and investigate getting midi out of DAW into modular at weekend.
Anyway, enough of that guff...

Deepmind X appears to be an opportunity wasted.
Just a Juno style colour scheme makeover that third party sellers have offered in sticker form for yonks. Not even added a super quick mod like opening up the great internal FX to external audio - saw someone do it in YT and is literally just one port plus soldering in a couple of wires.

It's good timing for me, though. My GAS for a DM12 desktop ebbs and flows and has recently ignited and had me keeping an eye out for a good deal on one. I'm sure that at least a few people will be dumping their boring OG DM12s for the new 12X look, so maybe I'll find a deal. Or, maybe I'll just pick up a new one since they're so affordable. TBH, both versions look good to me and their appearance wouldn't affect my decision anyway, but given the two choices, I do prefer the look of the 12X.

Hard long week at work - including pulling my first all nighter in over a decade - so bought one of these. Don’t need it as I have a million drum machines and modules but just fancied a new toy and £250 on Reverb seemed a bargain.

I've been looking for a nice stereo BBD delay pedal that meets all of my criteria and Walrus Audio Meraki checks most of the boxes.

New computer speakers, some basic Creative T100s off eBay.
A really close lightning strike last night blew out my old ones (which were cheaper, crappier ones). I literally just installed a UPS last week, and it's in line with another power strip that has its own surge protection, but the sudden "pop" did them in.
(I use headphones for music production, the speakers are really just for gaming and non-music YouTube. With this room's acoustics and other noises there's really no point in spending on better speakers. I actually have some MA10As in a closet, they're just too bulky to fit well with my desk layout.)
