first i had to reauthorize my TRACKS 5 MAX suite due to a new SSD i cloned. still it showed to me my grace period ended. so i updated to the latest version. wow, the authorization was fixed.
but now i cannot open in FL 24 the 670 plugin for example, it just crashes, and some more.

their plugins are the most crappy plugins i know within all those years.no version was reliable and brings new problems :D

bravo IKM! you always surprise me, still didnt got to replace all my projects with these worst plugins with other plugins due to time issues, but im so glad when i finally uninstall this crap software :tu:

besides from a few bugs I find the IK stuff to be pretty reliable, at least on my systems (Intel Mac and M4). I use T-Racks a lot and have been for years and am also using TONEX and recently added ARC.

Am I always happy with their decisions? no (I still think the "you don't purchase a perpetual license but just one for x years" part was really strange). But reliability hasn't been a problem for me.

Those licenses expire 30 years after the last update. I'm just glad my MODO DRUM license predates this change, because who knows when they'll update it again. :hihi:

I'm pretty sure the reason they did this is to retain control over their IP because of the destructive ECJ ruling in UsedSoft. The way for software companies to get around having their IP rights stripped from them is to avoid perpetual licenses and put some time limit on the license, either via subscription or some reasonable expiration date (they can't set it for 100+ years, the court would still consider that to be perpetual, and therefore result in a loss of rights.)

Yeah - one can't help but wondering how you managed to put of with FL for so long in the first place. :-o

the end of my continuing to be an IKM customer begins with bringing up the fact they changed the internal ID of the t-racks line (at the juncture point of x64) which was apparently not a problem for most DAWs but it meant every instance of them in VE Pro would fail to open; and their guy only had 'They're doing it wrong' here and then they deleted the post on their forum bringing this up. No (this may seem a bit obvious but) technical support didn't have anything for it.

They're "the best" if eating shit is a primary goal. This is the only technical issue I've experienced with their stuff that I can recall but it's a doozy. Then years down the line another change of technology, I guess this was late 2020, early 2021 and Apple M series and they did the very same thought-free move. That was the last straw.

People should care more about authorization systems. Everything is good till it works, but when problems pops it's just a mess.
Unfortunately people are very religious about their plugins to do not understand it's not about how good an useful something may be, but the problem when for any reason you may have to deal with some problem that stops your work because of it.

I made a video about that talking about Serum 2, that changed authorization method, but it's the same with every other stuff.

Fortunately there are very good and valid alternatives that use friendly systems, there's also a topic about them in this forum, people should pay more attention to.

Never had issue with IK plugins - rock solid. I only dont like their authorization manager. :)

Post

why is everything always the worst ever or the greatest ever?

IK might have issues in some respects but they make some great plugins and they make some mediocre ones.

I do think they have improved in some areas like not having that onerous limitation on downloads they used to have.

Post

No issues with IK for me, as already stated, rock solid.

Post

The biggest problem with IK is the complete disdain they treat their customers with.

Caine 123 has a history of having more issues than some other users. I don't know if that's due to system specific issues or it's just a matter of PEBCAK.

At any rate the T-Racks plugins work just fine here on two different systems (Win 10 and 11). I use them in every track with no issues. They work fine in FL Studio 24 as well as Waveform 13 Pro.

It's not a matter of fanboyism here. I have absolutely no problem expressing my disdain for IK's marketing department so if I had any issues with the T-Racks plugins I would have no problem whatsoever saying so.

But I simply don't have any issues with them. They're stable, sound great (on my source material), are easy to use, and look fantastic so what's not to like? Yeah their plugin manager can be wonky but that's not something we have to deal with on a daily basis once the plugins are installed.

That's a regular cop out put out by IK-M. Being an "anomaly" or "system specific" are terms they use when they get lazy and are planning their next move to another group buy distraction. What I noticed a long time ago was they had a coder that did things right and lost him before everything became a crap shoot of what their plugins would work on. And then they suddenly speak in cognitive distortions of absolutes and ad hominems.
And they were very intentive in support right up until they decide to just write it off. Usually just long enough to deny any refund for any thing that doesn't work. Definitely a company I now recommend to avoid regardless of group but dumps.

just wanted to share my latest experience, for a long time i already blacklisted them on my list, just migrating still / replacing all instances with Fabfilter plugins. as written before mostly their authorization manager gives some headache, and even in Tracks5 Max this thing is faulty :). and as i wrote, when i updated the whole suite now my old projects crash with the old Tracks5 Version, i had to update cause this fixed the authorization problem.

you click authorize, it says authorized, but opening the plugins says not authorized, even a system restart didnt help only the update :) wonderful?
i might downgrade the plugin versions as this suite is now authorized, this should work then. just shows how bad this authorization and plugins still are.

im no fan of C/R and other stuff, but check Omnisphere etc. no probs auhorizing your stuff.

until next time rambling about IKM. or maybe not if im done having replaced all instances in my projects!
then this crappy software goes on sale, i guess i wont get any buck back or maybe 10 euros :D to buy me 2 beers! chapeau

Been using IK stuff for a long time, effects and instruments. Always liked it, use it almost every day, next to no issues...
