For decades, audio pros and cable cultists have argued passionately about one thing:
“That cable just sounds… better.”
Is it the copper purity? The molecular alignment? The quantum energy field of your wallet slowly emptying?

We’re not here to judge. We’re here to emulate.

Meet Fire the cable, the first 100% FREE cable emulation plugin that allows you to switch between cables with a single click. Because if you think you can hear the difference, now you certainly can. Available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Fire The Cable GUI

Features you didn't know you needed

• Three cable types, infinite opinions:
- Audiophile deluxe™: adds “air” and “depth” you can’t describe
- Studio standard: neutral, balanced, unproblematic
- Budget bender: unreliable, unpredictable, undeniably “vintage”

• Bypass reality: switch between truth and placebo in real time.
• Stress saturation™: simulates that warm analog character of a cable getting stepped on during plug-in.

Finally, something that won’t break (or break the bank). Real cables wear out, you know. And because we can also model cables. So we did.
You're welcome.

Uh, don't have time to edit? We've got it covered. Fire The Cable features four carefully crafted presets designed to instantly shape your signal with the kind of subtle cable coloration that only the most elite golden ears can hear.

Here's what you'll find:

• Analog vortex emulation: wraps your audio in a vortex of vintage warmth, interwoven with tonal nostalgia. Inspired by that cable that some swear makes their mixes “more 3D.”
• Quantum harmonic shaper: designed using advanced marketing physics. Perfect for unlocking that “extra 2%” in your mix you didn't know you had.
Warning: may cause complacency.
• Redshift tone matrix: shifts tone to imaginary spectral planes. Ideal for producers who describe sound with words like “emotional haze” and “dimensional bite.”
• Dynamic nullifier XL (Bypass mode): removes all cable coloration so you can pretend to “hear the difference” when you go back. Comes with a built-in existential doubt.

Technical information:

• Supported formats: VST3, AAX, and AU.
• Available sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz.
• Compatible with Windows 10 and 11.
• Compatible with macOS 10.15 (Catalina) to macOS Sonoma (version 14.x).
• Intel, AMD, and ARM compatible.
• Native Apple Silicon support (Rosetta not supported).

April Fools! lol

This is a good compliment to Fire the Cable. It has been on the market for awhile and include the new 2026 reverb and free audiophile crystals. Elton John uses it.

pretty promising, but without an emulation of audiophile crystals it just feels incomplete.

Almost, but then...

Yeah: "Quantum harmonic shaper: designed using advanced marketing physics."

That pretty much sums it up. Well done. :-)

Can't tell if you are taking the piss or not. Every single year somebody makes an April Fools joke centred around power supplies and cables, and every single year it's just as unfunny as it was the year prior. The only thing that is a sure guarantee, is the one next year will be even more tryhard and unfunny, and hey, we now have LLM's, so people can have infinite variations on that theme in the chamber for decades to come without having to fire a single neuron...... :help:
