All I can say is that Pulsar Modular has a new owner that brings a lot of enthusiasm and resources. They will share their plans when they are ready. The good news is that P900 is here to stay. :tu:

Right, but has anyone heard from him since 2019? He wrote all the original DSP, seems unfortunate if he's no longer contributing to it.

Well, Pulsar Modular is located in Turkey, but the original pulsarmodular developer is in the SF Bay Area, USA, according to his profile. So based on that and the way he talked about the new owner and the fact that the About Us page says "We were established in the summer of 2019 in Antalya," I am going to assume he is not part of Pulsar Modular anymore, and it isn't even the same Pulsar Modular since being taken over.

Geographic location is not a constraint for shipping code, but based on the silence alone you're probably right that he's not involved anymore. I just wonder how much of the code in the new plugins is still his. Lot of stuff that could be repackaged, plate reverbs, delays, saturation circuits, tube emulations, filters, oscillators, envelope generators. I also wonder if he'll ever take another crack at it, people seemed pretty excited about the sonics of the original P900.

Gave the demo a whirl on the master bus. It does add a nice 3D effect to the sound. I checked with a mid/side plugin and it's adding 1dB to the sides and scooping the mids a bit. I was able to get something similar using SlickEQ M with a subtle smile curve and a side boost, although there's extra stuff going on in the P821 that I couldn't replicate exactly.

Enabling the wow/flutter module suppresses the highs, not sure why that would happen.

nice! another new The Best plugin ever

[checks notes]I'm pretty sure you can either enhance, or not alter, but not both.
Technically you can, and it’s actually what you want to do. Hardware does it the best by enhancing the overall mix without “altering” the characteristics of it per se.

Tape plugins (and plugins in general) are a bit notorious for trying to enhance your mix, but also altering the character of the mix in ways that aren’t desired. IK, UAD and Goodhertz tape plugins are good at enhancing without altering in my experience.

The Kazrog MHB Green compressor that just released not long ago does the opposite. Attempts to enhance your mix, but completely alters the character of it.

Will have to check this plugin out based on that description though. I get how outside of music it may not make much sense however lol.

It's kind of a fan-forum dedicated to the gear that's been used by the Spice Girls.
Man, you woldn't believe the esoteric gear they used back then

I can see how that's a good thing for a deaf person.

So...a quality tape machine that was wanted for it's clarity and lack of colour (clarity being the desired characteristic of all good recording equipment through the ages, tape being no different). Buy this because it makes magical tape colouring that's so magical you shouldn't be able to hear it, just like the original. Clarity is the new colour. TBH you couldn't make this shit up, and numpties buy it because they have no idea what quality tape was all about. May as well buy that idiotic Accustica DAC emulator while you're at it, so that you can pretend to emulate magical transparent conversion from your magical transparent tape. All with invisible colour. :nutter:

I really hope this is an April fool thing because otherwise it forever confirms the stupidity of digital musicians buying anything to stop them from sounding digital.

Wait whhaaatt?

Did you just make that up for the sake of argument, or are you that confused? I don't buy it since I've known your character for a long time. Tell me, please tell me, pretty please which Tape machines, even when calibrated, don't compress, saturate, or crosstalk a bit? Even the Ampex ATR-102, which was considered as one of the most transparent machines in the history of music - colored sound.

You really had to be handicapped a lot not to hear what this plugin does. Shocker: it isn't that subtle.

Do you need a hand?
