Are other DAWs updates/major updates also so buggy? FL Studio

One thing I'll tell you is I never do an update when I'm in the middle of working on something. One thing I will say about FL, if they push an update that breaks things they are quick to fix.

Beta versions are by definition going to have more bugs and issues. If you actually need to finish projects and need your system to be stable, just stick with the regular releases. Beta versions are for testing out new features and you're expected to report any bugs you encounter to IL so they can fix them before the full release.
I've used Cubase, Studio One and FL (and played around briefly with Reaper) and they've all had various more or less annoying bugs at any one time. IL do tend to be faster than some of the competition when it comes to fixing bugs, at least if enough people complain loudly enough.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I haven't even upgraded to the latest "stable" FL24. Still on the previous release because the torrent of bugs reported on their forums actually scared me away from updating
And not just because of the number of bugs... but also because I was seeing bugs in the most ridiculous places, involving things that had been working flawlessly for many years.
It just gave me an impression of either laziness or lack of co-ordination (due to the increased number of coders).
And make no mistake... I'm not refusing to upgrade simply because of the forum.
There are plenty of bugs in my "stable" version, and I really can't afford to let it get any worse. FL24 just feels laggy and congested, when comparing to FL20 and 21.
I'm hoping that this Fl25 beta will end up stable enough that I can skip the latest stable 24 and go to 25.
It does seem like they didn't fully address all the problems in 24 and just started working on 25, but at least I will be able to install 25 without worrying about it overwriting my stablish 24
Started on FL9 btw

I understand what you mean...andypryce wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 8:29 pmThis I do not understand. Some users find for example Cubase old, bloated and not cool(whatever that is) but at the same time most features they request in FL come from Cubase, or Logic etc. Go figure.Trancit wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 7:30 am
Users want to have a "different" FL Studio than it is and was meant to be with millions of features the code never was made for.
I once saw a long feature request list from a user that was basically describing Cubase. At that point why not just use Cubase? lol
I think most people want to have a Cubase/S1/Logic/Ableton/Bitwig hybrid with the looks, feel and everything else FLS does "better" than the rest (for this person) ...
Therefore moving to one of the competitors having already the features users ask for for FLS isn´t an option as it doesn´t change the "situation"... you´ve got the features you requested but you miss everything you like better in FLS...
I think once they have updated the code base they will surprise a lot of people with a stunning workflow and the typical "ease" of FL Studio...
It´s just a quite boring and felt "endless" boring period we have to overcome...
Let´s wait and see...
