i'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid i can't let you disable that

I've been doing lots of MacBook Pro M4 (which comes with Sequoia) pre-purchase checks with various developers over the past few days. Here's what's been confirmed as compatible as of 1st November 2024.

✔ Ableton Live 12
Live 12 confirmed here https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... 598VAHWW86

✔ Celemony
Melodyne confirmed compatible with Sequoia specific notes here https://helpcenter.celemony.com/M5/faqs/?qOpen=357

✔ FabFilter
They mentioned that everything seems to be working fine on Sequoia based on their internal testing. No reports from customers either, but they'll wait a bit longer before announcing official support to ensure everything is a-ok. Basically, they should be fine.

✔ reFX
Both Nexus and Vanguard are confirmed (via a ticket) as working fine on Sequoia even though the product page still only lists Sonoma.

✔ Spectrasonics
The latest versions of Omnisphere 2, Keyscape, Trilian, and Stylus RMX are fully compatible with macOS 15 Sequoia. https://www.spectrasonics.net/support/k ... view/114/9

✔ U-he
Confirmed by Urs here viewtopic.php?t=615537

✔ GForce Software
Confirmed here https://www.gforcesoftware.com/blog/mac ... atibility/

✔ Oeksound
Confirmed on their download page https://oeksound.com/downloads/

✔ Reveal Sound
Spire confirmed on their system compatibility page https://www.reveal-sound.com/plug-ins/s ... e-base/581

✔ Sonic Projects
We tested OP-X PRO-3 version 1.0.3 in macOS Sequoia 15.0 in a Mac Mini 2023 M2 in Logic Pro 11.0.1, MainStage 3.6.6 and Ableton Live 12 (12.0.25) and everything worked well and flawlessly. So the answer is yes.

✔ Synapse Audio
Everything should run under macOS 14. Additionally, we recently migrated Dune 3 and The Legend HZ to macOS 15. The only plug-ins not yet migrated to macOS 15 would be the old Legend and Obsession. Confirmed via email.

✔ TAL Software
Everything should work fine. Confirmed by email.

✔ Toontrack
Confirmed here https://www.toontrack.com/faq/is-toontr ... 5-sequoia/

✔ Valhalla DSP
Confirmed via email. "All of our plugins are fully compatible with Sequoia - you shouldn’t have any issues with them if you update your OS."

✔ Applied Acoustic Systems
Confirmed here https://www.applied-acoustics.com/suppo ... atibility/

✔ Cableguys
Confirmed via email. "All our plugins work great with macOS 15."

✔ LennarDigital
Confirmed via email. "Yes, Sylenth1 is fully compatible with Sequoia!"

✔ MusicLab
Confirmed on the System Requirements section of each instrument Features page. "macOS 10.12-10.15, 11-15"

✔ XLN Audio
Confirmed via email. "We have tested all our plugins in the current beta version of macOS Sequoia and they work." It's slightly odd that they mentioned the beta version when the full release has been out since the 16th September and the full point update has been out for almost a week, but hey. I'd assume they're compatible.

Still waiting to be confirmed (as of 1st November 2024)…

15.2 broke QEMU for me.

AI has a dialog box on the first boot forcing you to choose yes or no. I didn't see a peep of it yet.

How about Arturia and Relab Development compatibility?

One of the main issues potentially for audio users is Apple have made it a requirement for users to choose whether apps and services are able to access the local network

so you get popups every now and then asking to grant this or not. I have found that some apps (eg iLok, some hardware services such as for devices from NI and ROLI, some DAWs, also stuff like networked printers) won't function without it being granted. From what I've read this is intended to give the user more control over stuff that previously was handled either as a global option or by the system, so in some respects could be seen as an improvement as you have more control over that, but in practice there doesn't seem to be any way to control this manually, you have to wait for the popup to ask, and it sometimes doesn't or takes a few reboots to specific set of circumstances to appear. Unlike disk access there is no way to add apps and services manually, and it seems to require some specific instructions to be added to those to initiate the popup which older apps and services may not have.

Make sure your drivers are up to date, and maybe do a test run to see how it performs.

So, the Native Instruments compatibility page did not have "Komplete Effect" at the time of the origiinal post. Now it includes that but with the qualifier "depending".

So, Replika XT works, but host automation (at least for VE Pro; I don't have any DAW on that machine) is whacky, it's exposing wrong names.
To automate Mix means assigning Delay Time B, and to automate Feedback means assigning Mix, for instance. Probably all of it is wrong. Wow & Flutter = Tape Age. This has been the case since early February, regardless of whatever NI says, and I didn't find anything so far parsing the general Komplete Efferts.
