How to make that sound...

Hi. I guess this bass pad technique might be very trivial and can be made with any VA, but I couldn't achieve the same depth and tonality. Not that I'm going to copy somebody, but is is just a mere interest.

That is a Bass sound not a Pad.

Really any synth could do similar. Probably that is something that leans towards "analog" with a bit of Resonance on the Filter sweep - probably 24dB Moog Style.

It is note usage, keep to your Root of the chord and then mix to taste.

Cool song! Reminds me of old Arovane, thanks for introducing me to Nenni. :)

I believe I may have heard an actual patch on the now free Surge synth that gets really close to this. To add a few things: Use a few slightly detuned oscillators, maybe a touch of reverb and chorus with perhaps a bit of compression/saturation to give it heft and blend things together.
A well-behaved signature.

Thanks! Yepp, detune, chorus and resonance would be the usual suspects. But I feel now it is based on FM synthesis, because if its "vibrating" nature. I will try tomorrow.

Yes. It is sort of a mix between Arovane and Gridlock (one of the member of that band is n5MD label owner)

Yepp. To that I added a short envelope to the cutoff resonance (just for 0.8 seconds) and ambience reverb. And it was basically the same sound! Thank you!
