I was posting a reply in the Instruments section about drum machines/synths, and checked on the Inear Display website, only to be greeted with:

"Inear Display is ceasing operations.

Registered customers can still access their products from Gumroad and will be able to do so for the next months. Please make sure to download and back up a copy of your installers.

If you have not registered a Gumroad account, you can still access your purchases from the link in the corresponding receipts. See this page for further information.

In case of issues accessing your purchases, you can e-mail support[at]ineardisplay.com. Please note that the reply may take a few days.

Thanks to everyone who has supported our work over the years."

That sucks. I just purchased Ephemere and Amalgame fairly recently, and was going to buy the rest of their effects. It would've been nice to at least receive an email notification so their customers could make sure to have backup installers. I'm posting this so that you can download any purchases that have been made available on Gumroad. And I certainly wish them well.

That's a shame. Nowadays I mostly make percussive sounds with either a standard workhorse synth, or with Battalion or Kick 3, but I used to get a lot of mileage out of Ephemere.

Best wishes to the guy(s) at Inear Display

Sad news. I bought most/all of their plugins over the years.
Always quirky & inventive. Good luck to them.

Thomas Hennebert was dev for inear and glitchmachines - I hope he does well in whatever he is going to - he certainly contributed some interesting plugins

Post

Bummer that sucks, hope he’s onto better things and it’s not due to some hardship.

Great developer, many thanks to him for all the
cool works over the years.

That ^^^ and thanks for the heads-up.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Darn, I love Ephemere. As a customer, I'm disappointed not to have been contacted about this.

That was definitely apparent - viewed both as sibling companies for glitchy goodness. I wonder if they could just handover the inear products to glitch machines for continued development/merging of products

Post

that's a bummer, they had great little plugins ! I hope Thomas can continue his brilliant work under the Glitch Machines name.
I make electronic music - DAW of choice : Live 12

I noticed that Glitch Machines were no longer listed on Plugin Boutique as I had one of their plugs on my wishlist, not sure what it means for the company going forward and if it's related with Inear

GM are just repositioning their output and selling direct since the release of Skein. They said the constant blowout sales weren't sustainable for them as a company IIRC.

Really sad news!! I have been using Inear Display creations since Thomas came out with the very first plug. Brilliant products from a brilliant individual! Like someone mentioned earlier I also hope Thomas will continue his work with Glitchmachines :phones:

That's a bummer. I love ephemere. I'd love to see more synths from them.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Post

a bummer cause i would have bought the plugins before.... now you cannot get them anymore
