Tone2 Electra3 - Synthesizer Workstation

I like the layout and the layers of Electra3, plus the ability to have up to 4 arps running at once.
I wish it had a couple more skins to switch over to, such as the one in the old version: ElectraX.

Some people probably also wish for MPE but I don’t care too much, since I have a regular aftertouch-capable keyboard.

It would be cool to have granular for oscs, more insert fx and mod matrix slots.

I always thought granular would be perfect for Electra. It has a nice waveform view and the sample stuff already. I know Icarus has it but Electra is such a fast layout and workflow.

Yeah, it’s not like I don’t like Icarus, but I like the layout of Electra as it’s quick and easy for me to use.

I think sometimes developers keep features in certain plugins (and not in others) for whatever reasons. Maybe they were originally designed a certain way, and it may make it more difficult to add various kinds of features down the road?

Having granular in it probably wouldn’t take away sales from Icarus anyway. I would think people might actually buy both synths that way.

The update to v3.3 is available for free for all Tone2 Electra3 customers.
Electra 3.3 is downward compatible with all previous versions. All existing song projects and patches can be loaded without any further steps necessary. They will benefit from the enhanced sound-quality.

New features:

- It is more easy to see Soundsets in the patch browser. They have blue color.
- The patch browser shows hints how the sounds should be used.
- Included two additonal sizes for the GUI: "Zoom 83% (1500 x 825)" and "Zoom 88% (1575 x 866)".
- Insert and Master effect parameters can be automated.
- Sustain of the envelopes can be automated.
- VST3 only installation for PC.


Enhancements:

- Better naming of Automation parameters.
- Slightly enhanced performance.


Fixes:

- Automation was not recorded properly in some DAWs if layer 2-4 was used.
- AmpSim does not longer output a tiny DC offset.
- Workaround for a bug of Windows 11 that messed up the layout of the font SeggoeUI.
- Fixed a typo in the word 'Subtractive'.
- Fixed a typo in 'Midi Chn'.

When I selected VST3 only, I noticed it says 2.4 is also selected.

I always thought that only a certain size font could fit within that space of the tab (to match up with the rest of the UI), so then the only way to make the word fit is to abbreviate it. It's sort of like the tabs for the separate synths say SYNT1 SYNT2, etc.

I would still like to know what that fractal oscillators are beside its name. In what way is it fractal? Does it have a different waveform each time I hit a note? Does it move somehow, never repeating exactly? Is there a paper which explains it?
If its just a buzz word, I am not interested…

Sadly we can not longer reveal any technical details how things work in a public forum as the competition does also read this. Our ideas have been copied for too many times in the past and we have learned our lesson. Thank you for your understanding.

Just out of curiosity, can't you write a paper and then patent the technology?

I see no benefits for this except more work and costs.
Apart from this it's very difficult to patent software in Europe.

Is it now possible to drag a stored layer from the browser to a certain layer or to copy a layer between different instances ?

If not then this would be my feature request !
