I still have my copy of BreakTweaker installed on my Intel iMac. But again, it's a very cool concept that was suddenly stopped at v1.0.2. Each of these has so much potential, and it's a shame that anyone would let these VST's continue to go undeveloped. But that's the software business for you, and it's probably money-related.

Breaktweaker may or may not be working on a V2.

Each of these has so much potential, and it's a shame that anyone would let these VST's continue to go undeveloped. But that's the software business for you, and it's probably money-related, because the talent was there at one point. I imagine that controlling your precious IP has got to be challenging once investors start making decisions that are in conflict with the artist.

I appreciate the heads-up on that Soundlabs post. My previous reply had mistakes in it. So to be clear, the website is at: https://www.soundlabs.ai Their first plug-in called MicDrop is currently on sale for 40% off with code: SpringMicDrop40

I've been keeping an eye on any progress after I signed up at Brian's new company earlier this year. I would love to indulge my intentional positive outlook regarding a BreakTweaker v2 release. I certainly hope that it becomes a reality, but it's probably wise to not get my hopes up too much. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I have a feeling that BT would come up with some tweaks to make BreakTweaker v2 insanely powerful. And teaming up with talent from Unfiltered Audio seems like a much better fit than iZotope at this point.

Oh wow, BT and Michael Hetrick working together! Seemed like iZotope was a good match for BT when they were an independent team out of the MIT Media Lab, but things probably got stifling and weird when they sold out. And Hetrick studied DSP with Curtis Roads who literally wrote the book on Computer Music  I bet the other folks are great too. Not sure I need MicDrop, but would love to see what else they put out!

Good to see the love for Geist/Tremor, shame how some of the great first-wave companieslike FXPansion and OhmForce (yes, I know online collab DAW) just kinda disappeared. Another plus for Geist was: many MIDI controllers of the era had default maps for it. Geist 2 seemed overly complex when I first got it, but it soon made sense, and it's about as simple as you can make something that's an MPC-inspired sample/pattern based mini-DAW with great FX (Andy Simper). I love Tremor's interface and features, but oof! the stock sounds were not on the warm and punchy side. Lots of crispy critters. :band2:

MicroTonic still gets the most use. The morphing, ease of chaining patterns, range of useful sounds, scriptability, and intriguing addons make it so much fun! I have Atlas but need to learn how to use it better. I love DrumComputer's features more than the presets' sounds, but I'm sure I could learn to make ones I'd use. Have demo'd the D16, can see getting those too. :help:
I vastly prefer drum plugins with grid sequencers, but just picked up Audio Realism ADMx for the sound.

Now that XFer/Steve Duda released Serum 2, I would LOVE a Nerve v2 with synthesis added!

Yeah, it's a shame. I'm not sure what's going on with those devs. I think they are based in Israel, so maybe they are facing some hardships?

Anyway, see this comment from the Audiobus/Loopy Pro forum from last December - https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/c ... nt_1367673

morphex wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 12:12 am It can definitely be very frustrating when amazing plug-ins like Geist and Tremor have their development stopped cold in their tracks. Tremor has the kind of sound-sculpting abilities that I want in a dedicated drum synth, but I missed out on it and there aren't many alternatives that I consider to be in the same ballpark.
Yeah, Tremor was excellent. Nothing out there that is quite like it. :(

+ 1 for Triaz, very well accessable, a great sequencer.
