yeah, but they're not really the person to let even the most basic and obvious of facts get in their way, are they.

Isn’t the ad issue a cookie problem? Not understanding that point and maybe not caring enough to explore it.

Anyways, still wish we had dedicated video sub forum.

If anyone has an Eyesy, but doesnt read the Critter and Guitari forum, there's a new version 3 OS for it.
What’s New in OS v3?

Customizable Color Palettes – Select from built-in palettes or even create your own for a unified color theme across all modes.
Knob Recording & Sequencing – Automate knob movements for evolving animations and hands-free performance.
MIDI Scene Mapping – Assign MIDI Program Change messages to instantly recall your favorite scenes.
Extended MIDI Mapping – Easily customize CC numbers, MIDI Channel, and other settings.
HDMI Resolution Selection – Choose the best resolution for your display setup.
Improved WiFi Support – Better compatibility with wider range of USB WiFi adapters.
Enhanced Web Editor – Many small improvements, like editor tabs, to make editing modes on the EYESY easier.
Run from USB Drive – Load modes, scenes, and settings directly from USB storage. Try out different modes and save your work without WiFi.
Backup to USB Drive – Easily save and restore your settings, modes, and scenes.
On Screen Menu – Many of the new features are easily accessible using the new on screen menu.
Python 3 Compatibility – All factory modes and system functions updated for Python 3.
(And there was also a v1.9 release of Imaginando VS)

Davinci Resolve 20 in addition to a crazy high amount of other improvements/updates, has really ramped-up their audio game:

annnnd yeah, I wish he would sit on his hands, but.. whatever:

Whoa. This is exactly what I expected AI tools to do for editing and it it’s just scratching the surface! Scary and impressive all at the same time.

 Couldn’t stop noticing after reading that.

I think he needs a different lens? Can’t pretend to know best here as I’m still crash course learning camera lenses, but I think that’s the problem with the forced perspective. He’s got the Hobit/Lord of the Rings/Hagrid from Harry Potter effect going on with his hands.

I’ve been trying to ignore DaVinci Resolve just to not lose time learning a new system, but it might make perfect sense to switch as I’m relearning Final Cut Pro anyways. Resolve also looks more intuitive.

v20 has a few nice improvements for music video production, particularly the beat markers and improvements to the Cut page. I really wish they’d improve their Sync Bin and multicam clips, though. Bella and I spent about 4 hours last night trying to piece together clips from 16 different full-length performance videos that were all synched to the master audio track (the mastered song) in the Sync Bin, but it kept putting some of the clips in the wrong position when we’d add them to the timeline, sometimes off by a few frames, other times it was off by several seconds. It had us cursing our lungs out and almost starting over in FCPX, where I’ve never had this problem. Argghhhhh…

:o Yeah that would drive me crazy. So far for what I'm working on, I still need to manually sync, so an old-school clap in the beginning has been my go-to in FCPX. I'm curious if it it'd work better in Resolve, but I doubt it.

What's pushing me over is not having to switch to Motion for some text animation changes that are just slightly too much for FCPX.

I'll download the free version again later today and see how quickly I get around. If it works out, I'll purchase it.

I have access to the Adobe programs via Creative Cloud, but we might cut that off in November, so I don't want to get comfortable. Plus, I never liked Premiere. :hihi:

I find it to be super unintuitive but that could certainly just be me (not a power user).

FCPX takes some time getting to know where every feature is. It’s a minimalist editor at first glance and while that can be a good thing, it’s also frustrating when you want to do more and don’t remember where a feature is located. I used to work with FCPX regularly, but it’s been years and some things are not where they used to be.

I don’t anticipate being a power user again, but I do hope to develop quick workflows and quick render times will be must and unfortunately, that’s the paid version.

Exactly! Every time I use it, I end up going crazy knowing that I’ve done something with FCPX a million times, but I have to keep googling to remember how (and, of course, it’s always dead simple)!

Resolve is the opposite. Everything’s right in front of you or a click away, but all those ambiguous looking tiny icons become meaningless visual noise and clutter very quickly. This is why I love the Speed Editor - the commands are printed in plain English and everything is a click or double-click to perform. Much better than trying to remember a million keyboard shortcuts.

I’m trying to figure that out right now… Speed Editor or not. I do have a Stream Deck which could be configured.

First part of Tariffs kick in at midnight and even though items in stock shouldn’t be included, that doesn’t stop retailers from jacking prices up. My go to paper towels are $37 up from $22. Such great times right now.

I’ve never used a Stream Deck, but if it can be configured to work in the Edit page, that could be an advantage. Full use of the Speed Editor is limited to the Cut page, which is fine for my use since I’m almost always working with synched clips, but many people (especially long-time users) are accustomed to and prefer the Edit page for assembling clips.
