Opening time seems to be heavily impacted by computer configuration. Also I think it's faster to open on macOS than on Windows.

Yeah this patch for me is way faster, last was like 4 seconds for reopening an instance.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Apr 05, 2025 7:17 am Opening time seems to be heavily impacted by computer configuration. Also I think it's faster to open on macOS than on Windows.

That is long. Do you have tons of presets because that's what takes the longest on mine to load.seangm wrote: Sat Apr 05, 2025 1:50 am MX still opens slow for me too, it's like 20 seconds to load in Cubase. But that's better than the 2+ minutes it used to take before the last update.

Yeah I own all the NI presets and pretty much every 3rd party preset library I could find. Probably a few thousand presets all together. But I have 20,000+ presets in Omnisphere and it probably takes about 10 seconds to open.osiris wrote: Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:14 pmThat is long. I think that's because Omni loads preset names, then loads samples and such when you pick them.

OT but Omni loads way faster than that for me on Macbook M2 and PC, though I do have a fast NVMe. I must have a similar number of presets. Spectrasonics fixed the very slow performance on some Windows machines several versions ago.

Spent quite awhile trying to find it, maybe ED knows or someone else here.
Where does Massive X store the information of which patches are favourited?
I have a mac and a pc and want to copy my favourited patch info to the pc...it isn't in any of the usual places I tried.
thanks in advance.

Should be in AppSupport/NI/MX.
I am not sure if the DB3 files are platform agnostic with regards to how paths are stored, though.

Thanks.
I assume you mean ~Library's AppSupport/NI/MX
I don't think it is there though.
There is one db and two db3 files there.
Even if I remove them and put them on the desktop and restart MX in Cubendo, it rebuilds those files AND keeps the favourited files info intact.

I love the sound of Massive X,but the internal preset handling is pathetic...
So I've given up on that department and my presets are saved in Reaper and in VST3 format...
It's not a game changer,but it's a head shaker
Why couldn't they have just rolled out the same system they had in the original Massive ?
That one works great

I have never worked with OTT and don't understand this new Multi Compressor. Can someone explain it in one or two sentences? How and when do you use it?
If I want only to do standard downward compression I set the "Down" slider for more than 100% (ratio) and use the grey handlebar for setting the threshold. Right?
On which sounds do you use upward compression?

Have been using it again recently and I love the sound but it crashes my Ableton fairly regularly.

Whenever I see this thread resurface I immediately open it, hoping for some important update to Massive X. Like many others, I think the sound engine is fantastic—plenty of depth and character. I actually enjoy the patching area, and with a few more enhancements, the workflow could be even better. The GUI isn’t perfect but it’s workable.
But the preset management/browser is where things really fall short:
NI, if you're reading this. Please add proper 3rd party preset support.
But the preset management/browser is where things really fall short:
- Still no way to create third-party banks
- User presets all get dumped into a single folder, which makes it a headache to keep track of what’s finished vs. what’s still in progress (I end up using Komplete Kontrol to organize, which is its own kind of pain)
NI, if you're reading this. Please add proper 3rd party preset support.
