Getting ads for Soniccouture’s Flowstate ‘morphing’ synth but no talk here?

I don’t have my comp with me as I lie in back pain but my scrolling adventures are always interleaved with adverts for this. The videos are quite boring but I can definitely hear some kind of spectral shenanigans going on…
Has anyone actually tried it with any gusto? I would if my machine was here..

Thanks for the heads-up. Instant buy.parma wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:06 am NI has it on sale for a couple weeks:

I thought it looked interesting but tried getting some discussion going about it on the NI website but no joy. Thing is while it looks like it is doing some sort of spectral resynthesis there is nothing I can see in Kontakt's capabilities that allows for that, so I'm wondering if it's really just making use of the granular based time stretch engine, which might mean it's not as great as it looks.

I’m not up on how much control over the playback engine’s mangling capabilities scripting has, but those different modes are definitely doing something in the frequency domain. Maybe not all of them though..
Can’t someone just load a saw wave and a vocal to highlight the sound of the engine?
If I’m well before the sale is up I’ll do it myself, but even now I’m expecting to be unimpressed.
I’m annoyingly hard to please when it comes to claims of morphing

Oooh, ok I get it. It isn’t morphing audio files together at all; it’s morphing between resonant filter states, which are being stimulated by the source wav.
So neither granular or spectral.. it also sounded like the playback speed of the files wasn’t being affected by the key pitch, just the resonant filters.
And the 5 different ‘states’ are just settings panels for the same filter, kind of like preset morphing.
I can see the appeal for soundtrack/ambient stuff but it isn’t quirky or mental enough for me

So really it's not morphing the audio - just how it is processed?CinningBao wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:47 am Oooh, ok I get it. It isn’t morphing audio files together at all; it’s morphing between resonant filter states, which are being stimulated by the source wav.

Basically, yes. Though I think 'transitions' between states, is more accurate.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:39 amSo really it's not morphing the audio - just how it is processed?CinningBao wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:47 am Oooh, ok I get it. this library turns my shart collection and my single snare into beautiful pads and texture leads,CPU intensive but really good sound
