I actually never thought about selling software. it's a strange concept for me.
Stranger than buying software?
yes martin, for me it is. I'm sorry.

What I'm saying is, I have never done it. It never occurred to me. I might try it though since there's some stuff I don't use.

But to answer my own question:

stuff I use all the time:

Audio Thing - Noises
Baby Audio - Smooth Operator
IK Multimedia - T-RackS Bus Comp, Metering, Master EQ 432, TONEX (using my own captures), Tape Machines
Kazrog - Synth Warmer, True Iron, True Dynamics, True 252
Klevgrand - Pana, Revolv, Fosfat, Haaze2, Brusfri
Safari Pedals - Rabbit Tape, Lion Master, Dragon EQ, Sun Bear, Yak Delay, Owl Control
Tone Empire - Opto Red
Wavesfactory - Trackspacer, Equalizer, Cassette

stuff I really like but somehow never use (either because I use something else, or because I forget to use it)

Audio Thing - Type A (I love it on vocals but somehow never end up using it)
Wavesfactory - Spectre (I honestly don't know why I never use it. Every time I try it I love it but it's always just when playing around)
Voosteq - Model N (really good, but I grab other stuff. I think I'm not a channel strip kinda guy)

I don't use plug-ins; they use me, like a cheap napkin at a fried chicken and ribs place, like a plastic yogurt container that someone repurposed to hold leftover chicken soup and then repurposed it again to hold leaking oil from an ancient, small Datsun pickup. But we've all got our hobbies.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

DAW's built in effects, Fabfilter effects and Serum 2 synth. I was very hard to debloat plugins, but I am more productive now.

The Ableton and FabFilter stuff are my got-to plugins since years. On the additional plugin side, there is some sort of fluctuation. I'm not very sure about Bass Mint at the moment.

- Ableton stock plugins
- FabFilter everything (except Simplon, Micro)

- Cableguys FilterShaper XL, VolumeShaper 3, Kickstart 2
- Kazrog KClip 3
- Native Instruments Mod Pack, Raum
- Newfangled Audio Saturate, Recirculate
- Softube Harmonics, TSAR-1
- Soundtoys LittlePlate, SuperPlate
- Unfiltered Audio Bass Mint
- Waldorf Lector

I keep track of the gear I use in most of my recordings. These are used in basically every track (for mastering and/or tracking)

DDMF MagicDeathEye
Izoptope RX6 De-Click
RJ Studios Sideminder Max (or ZL)
Toneboosters EQ Pro
Voxengo Elephant, OVC-128, Span Plus, & Correlometer
Waves Curve Equator
YuLean Loudness Meter

Most frequently used other plugins, in my last 2 completed albums plus the one in progress, in descending order. (I'm not going to go back further than that...):

Valhalla Delay
Audiority Velvet Machine
VCV Rack
Kilohearts Filter Table (using two instances for stereo or M/S boosts its count...)
Valhalla Supermassive
35 other plugins used more than once
28 other plugins used exactly once

...and lots of Bitwig stock plugins, plus Sound Forge processing/effects, including some VSTs that I don't even count instances of sometimes.

Post

Always come back to the stock devices in Reason Studios, of course using custom combinators

Post

For me what I use keeps changing over time, but it's mostly the same
(at any given period in time) few plugins over and over again.

And actually these are mostly emulations of classic hardware or at least are
inspired by the latter.

Some of my most used plugins are:

- Rockrüpel

- True Dynamics (LA-1B)

- UAD LA-2

- Softube VCA Comp

- UAD Ampex

- T-racks Tape Machine 24

- PA Vixens and Friedmans

- PA Ampegs

- both Sonsigs

- V³

- Übermod

- Soundhelmet Tens

- Fuse VREV-63

- Instant Phaser

- PA ADA Flanger

- T-Racks Leslie

- Fuse El Germano

- Fuse Dozer-Drive

- D16 Repeater

- Waves Metafilter

- UAD Pultec (I really don't use a whole lot of EQ)

- Nugen Stereoizer

- Melodyne

- Superior Drummer 3

I own (and partly use) a whole lot more than these and then some (and could easily replace most any of these with at least one other plugin (certainly neither of the latter two though)), but something like this is really what it comes down to for me.
I's really mostly just bread and butter for me all day long any day of the week.

I use a good bit of my waves diamond bundle on pretty much everything. Lots of the melda stuff (especially the mcompressor and Mdynamiceq). I use pitch shifters all the time and I have many, but they are all useful for making interesting textures and exploiting their various artifacts. I use all the old Unfiltered Audio FX : Dent/Indent, sandman Pro, Spec Ops etc. I use all of the NI FX from Komplete: Solid comp, La2a, driver, dirt and reaktor are my favorites. I use Zebrify all the time for midi controlled FX and audio controlled FX. I still use all the smart electronix stuff that made it to 64bit. I also use the Built in fx in all my DAWs because it's simple and generally low in CPU. There's actually very little I have that I don't use pretty regularly. I got the Arturia FX bundle last holiday season for super cheap and I have not been impressed with any of it enough to use it much. The few things that seem cool are rendered far less cool by their CPU consumption.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

What is interesting, that some of you are interested in reducing their amount of plugins, for the sake of "productivity" (I guess). Same here.

So I revisited my plugin folder yesterday and ask myself, if I could get rid of my "specialist" plugins and just work with stock plugins and bundles from one, or two plugin manufacturers. The answer is no. :)

Like I mention further above, I work mainly with Ableton stock and FabFilter plugins. I think that's about 75%, the other 25% are from various manufacturers. I'm always interested in reducing the number of choices, for a better workflow, but that would be a too theoretical approach for me, to limit myself, to two or three specific plugin manufacturers. Especially when it comes to reverbs.

Just some of my thoughts.
