Hey guys!
I always fight with bass guitars and kick drums being in the same place in the mix (i mostly mix real instruments, no samples). I still use TrackSpacer but i am not 100% happy with it, and it also uses quite some CPU. The benefit is that it uses mid/side, which is super cool and handy.
Do you know of any other flexible seperation plugins? I tried Soothe but was not happy with the outcome at all.
Mid/side would be great as well as attaack/release variables, if possible

Since this is for real instruments, if you're not getting along with Trackspacer, then your next best bet is probably just sidechaining a compressor. I'm a huge fan of Trackspacer and it rarely lets me down, regardless of the style of music or instruments I'm ducking.
Not sure what mid/side is getting you in this situation, but you can always use a M/S encode/decode utility to split the signal to achieve what you want.

Use a dynamic EQ that supports side-chaining like Toneboosters EQ Pro.
