I have the SX score editor open in "Edit" mode and
can input notes to the active staff with the note
tool , but once it is there I can't select it with the mouse, move it or even delete it .

I have read the manual and that says what I already
knew = use the arrow tool to drag a rectangle around the note(s) that you wish to select and drag
them to where you wan't to move them to .

I do this but nothing happens :?

am I missing something or is there a bug :?:

Mystery solved :P

There is a row of 5 buttons @ the top right of the Score edit window just below the colorize thing ,
called layer 1,2,3,L,G
I didn't know what they do so I clicked on "1"
and tried to drag a note in the staff and bingo
it moved :D

Couldn't find anything about it in the manual and
then found there is an extra second manual for the
score editor , here is what it sayeth .........
About the lock layers
When you are moving and editing notes in the score, you might accidentally
move other objects nearby. To avoid this, assign different types
of objects to different “lock layers” (up to three) and instruct Cubase SX
to “lock” one or two of these layers, making them unmovable.
There are two ways to set up which type of object should belong to
which lock layer:
• Open the Preferences dialog from the File menu and select the Scores-Event
Layer page.
This page lets you adjust the layer setting for each object type.
• Right-click (Win) or [Ctrl]-click (Mac) on one of the layer buttons (1-2-3) in the
extended toolbar to bring up a pop-up menu, showing which object types are
associated with that layer.
A checkmark for an object type means it belongs to that layer. If no checkmark is
shown, you can select the object type on the menu to move it to that layer.
To lock a layer, click on its number on the Lock layer button, so that it
goes dark. You can only select or move objects whose layer number is
lit. For more detailed information, see
