Which one has better features and is lighter for the CPU?

Well, if things like patterns and MIDI out and MIDI drag and drop are important to you, that rules out Battalion because it was inexplicably released without any of those but supposedly it's in the works.

Drum Computer is nice, tho I would have Batallion as well, if they would put it on sale
for a decent price…

Richard Devine seems to like it as well (Drum Computer), based on some recent vids I watched.

Drum computer driving Battalion... so get both!

This is probably me being stupid but I've trawled the manual and fiddled around with it endlessly but I haven't worked out how to simply send MIDI out from Drum Computer with one track triggering just one note. I'd love to use the sequencer with Ableton Drum Racks.

I'd be extremely grateful if either of you could help!

You set your MIDI mapping by clicking the little rainbow on the far right. You can save preset configurations for if you want to drive different plugins with different key mappings.

I like Drumcomputer for quirky stuff, but I almost always have another kick being handled by other software. I don't know Battalion. It didn't interest me that much. I have a lot of stuff by them, and to be honest, I end up not using it much for some reason.

Battalion is more experimental, more emphasis on sound design and more esoteric sounds.

The sequencer is actually pretty good but the plugin is really kneecapped by the lack of patterns or midi out.

Drum computer is more traditional but still has pretty deep sound editing features. Sequencer wise it's pretty good but it does have more than one pattern, pattern chaining and midi drag and drop.

Drum computer does struggle with kick drums which is a serious flaw. Also it kind of sounds uneven like there's some weird random phase happening on drum hits.

In terms of synthesised sounds I still think the venerable Microtonic is still hard to beat and for sampled based stuff Triaz is probably my favourite.

I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet, but since you mentioned the CPU load, Battalion is much more demanding than Drumcomputer.

Battalion by Unfiltered Audio or DrumComputer by Sugar Bytes?
