Pretty sure the question pertained specifically to being able to 'drag-n-drop' directly onto the interface... not opening the mapping editor, which of course one can do if desired.

{aside: personally I've always enjoyed making my own Reaktor maps, and single cycle wave forms, and wavetables (et al), BUT the immediacy and spontaneity of a 'drag-n-drop' feature definitely has its merits.}

Drag and dropping onto the interface is faster than clicking Edit and doing it there. I would gather if you dragged and dropped into the interface it would auto map across the key range.
The way Montag-e uses samples is a bit more complex than having a sample mapped over the entire key range (though you can do that in the Reaktor map if you want).
Montag-e will play the selected sample polyphonically and also can be set to Uni Legato and Uni Retrig as well as a key map (the playheads play via selected key of an octave, like a drum map).
The modulation system can also modulate different samples in the bank, so you can use the modulators to flip to different samples (even note range). Montag-e is insanely flexible and can adapt to different requirements either as a performance instrument or production tool.

You can drag a sample onto the sample window and it will add the sample to the map (just tried it). However it doesn't auto select that sample, you will still have to select the sample in the sample selector. You can also drag and drop multiple files at once.
