I just wish they improved the EQ, the way they've done it is novel but I always find myself needing more control than it offers

Still no sign of roadmap promises from a year ago 🤷🏻‍♂️, but now we have yet another sound pack release - https://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/product/tape-toys/
I’m not buying anything more from them until they deliver on their promises of the advanced sample scanning.

i tried to love triaz but it just doesn’t suit my workflow somehow. especially when using my own samples. gathering dust now :(

That new sound pack actually sounds kinda fun, but I have too many samples and drum software so I shouldn't buy anything new.

I can understand the frustration of no updates, but I enjoy using Triaz as it is, even with the sample browsing shortcomings. I just drag things into it from ADSR sample manager or the DAW browser.

Post

It’s a good plugin for sure, but using another sample manager, or Atlas, XO etc. to feed it sample is a pain and time consuming. It takes the immediacy out of using it. I’ve dropped it from my workflow until they sort out the deliverables they promised.

Tough crowd. Hear the drummer get wicked.

I do this all the time in Studio One. Just set the File browser to my Triaz directory and drag n drop all day long.

Even better is ADSR Sample Manager - I have it scan/monitor my entire Triaz directory so I can manhandle any sample from the entire Wave Alchemy library right into S1 in seconds.

And ADSR is a VST3 plugin so I stick it right into a track in Studio One as well.

Zero barriers. Maximum flex.

I just only use Triaz and its expansions (or something from UVI) for my drums, their samples are enough for me. Before Triaz it was similar - I almost exclusively used Battery and the kits from there. I just dislike buying and than browsing thousands of kick or snare samples. But my music is not very drum oriented and drums sounds are not as important as in other genres I guess.

Still I think Triaz has a lot of professional sounding kits, that work together well. I would like to see more acoustic and percussion kits from them and not thinkgs like the new "toys instruments" expansion. Feature wise I am very happy with Triaz, it has almost everything I need.

I agree 100%, they still haven't released what they promised.

Indeed. Seems like we need to call the waaaaaambulance.

As it seems like we’re all letting everyone else know our Triaz usage status, I bought it years ago, am loving the standalone version (free upgrade!!) and don’t confuse it with other plugins that do different things.

A development roadmap should not be taken as a promise.

And - in some cases - silence is golden.

Knowing the WA guys and their commitment to quality as shown in the current iteration of Triaz - I would not be surprised in the least if they over deliver on the next update.

Good quality work is very hard. Anyone who expects things to appear just because it was passing comment in a thread on KVR 4 months ago - needs to gain a better understanding as how software developement actually works.

I was surprised at their roadmap that they wanted to have AI sample categorization in just a few months later. Probably they realized that it isn't as trivial to get this done well as they originally thought. But if they can get it done, it would be really nice, I would also be OK to wait for it some more time.

It's very common that roadmaps take longer than anticipated, it's already nice that they were so open to communicate their plans. An update on their roadmap plans would be nice, though :)

wave alchemy wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 9:00 pm The new native Revolution plugin includes all new samples, and delivers the sound of over 40 drum machines. The plugin will share the same architecture in general as Triaz (with a different look and feel), with the obvious major differences being the 'drum machine' controls section (which handles all the complex multi samples and RR) in place of the layering section, slightly different Sound section, and a new, more visual browser for browsing drum machines.

This makes a lot of sense, since then any updates we add to Triaz (like he smart sequencer stuff and other things mentioned here) can be shared easily to the Revolution codebase and vice versa.

We can consider sampling another 909 too, so we have two of them. I agree that these old machines all have their own character, unit to unit.

It should be fun motion sequencing the drum machine controls in Revolution native :D
Anything you can share in terms of progress on Revolution native?
