I just ask to myself , i know very well pro Q4 , Q10,RenEQ,ReaQ but i asking myself what about equilibrium ? The price is pretty high but every time i search for the best EQ it appear in the list.
I am pretty tempted because i have Compassion and it blow my mind ! Someone here who know celle this plugin can tell me why it is do special ?

I bought and sold it twice. It's a fantastic sounding EQ, there's no mistake, but for me it is just overkill. I love the zoom feature and the customisation that's possible is crazy. For me personally, I get on with TDR Nova and Toneboosters EQ Pro. They both do everything I need and I get really fast results. Maybe if I were a sound engineer/mastering I would appreciate it more, but considering it doesn't do dynamic EQ (I know there's Multiplicity for that) I can't justify the cost.
Everyone has different needs. Mine is to get results as quick and easy as possible for creating tracks. Also, the best EQ is very subjective .
Hope this helps.

Thank you !
Why do you think it is over priced ? It sound just like another eq ?

I don't think it's overpriced if you're using it to it's full potential. But, personally, for my needs it's way more than I need. Try the demo, you get 30 days unrestricted. See what you think. Dave is a genius coder and the guys are all fantastic but I'm more than happy with my Nova and TB Eq Pro .

There's no doubt that DMG Audio products are top tier, but if you can get to where you need to be with your current software, then ask yourself is it worth the £180?
Good luck

The extra curves and the FIR section are the biggest reasons. You get lots of curves from famous hardwares and some unique ones like the flattop or DMG highshelf with -100% at Q above 0.71 (probably the best air boost curve I've heard so far). Or filters that are not commonly implemented in other EQs like the Bessel lowpass which sound more natural than Butterworth which 95% of the other uses. There are alot of overlaps though (most of the bells are just the same with different mappings)
FIR mode is quite cool too, phase control per band when in Free mode (e.g minimum phase for the lower bands and linear phase for higher ones) and the other parameters to control ringing, these settings are subtle though atleast for me, with quite a bit of latency too. (up to 1second on highest setting), overkill for normal mixing duty, so you will find yourself using the zero latency IIR most of the time. The FIR mode is more appropiate for mastering imo.
Soundwise, if you only use the common curves then there will be basically no difference really. The only huge difference is the DMG highshelf compared to other EQs because they mapped it differently (e.g 8khz shelf in DMG is 6.9khz in Pro-Q).

What could you say to me , can you compare it to pro Q4 or TB eq pro 4 ? ...

There is one detail in the workflow that is just so well thought : you hear the frequency you want to adjust, then you right click on it so the band you’re eqing becomes solo, adjust it if needed, and done. No other EQ shares this feature to my knowledge. In ProQ, you have to maintain alt+click or something to solo a band. Right click is simply much, much faster : only one hand, only one finger.
The middle button of the mouse adjusts band width also. In ProQ you get a weird bell shape if you do so.
And for some reason the spectrum analyzer from Equilibrium seems much more "obvious" to me than the one in ProQ. It’s hard to describe.
I find it easier to work with, and the sound seems perfect to me.

It has too many customization options and I don't see the point in using an EQ that just offers the curves of analog hardware when it doesn't also offer saturation. I'd rather use actual emulations of the analog EQs that include saturation. Toneboosters EQ Pro is the best option right now. Better than both EQuilibrium and Pro-Q.
