This is a part of the deal on Humble Bundle. Does anyone know if this will upgrade all my T-RackS 5 plug-ins to T-RackS 6 versions?

@Peter?

Post

I would like to know too, as I bought that deal and it seems some plugins went to 6, some didn't.
A bit confused.

It is a very good deal and TRackS 6 with 19+5 modules sounds great, especially Lo Fi.

However there are also lots of unpolished things, I made a post about it on IK forum and sent feedback to IK hoping for some UX and UI improvements.
Still a great package though, buy it !

Post

I bought the pack and in the installer program the only thing that's showing under TRacks 6 is the Lo Fi plugin

@Peter?
It's supposed to. Peter addressed that responding to me in the Lursen Mastering EQ thread.

See his post here: viewtopic.php?p=9070593#p9070593

The new rule is basically 'any paid T-Racks 6 version (not Intro) upgrades your T-Racks 5 module'. The T-Racks 6 included in that bundle qualifies for that.

Post

Ok, so I went for it, installed, and half my T-RackS 5 modules upgraded to V6, and the other half did not. I don't know what's up with that, but I reached out to the support.

You know, it's weird, but when I looked at which T-Racks products/modules I actually owned versus what IK thinks I owned, there were a few that were missing. I think they've got a very imperfect system.

Yeah it's weird. I just think what has happened is that the T-racks 5 system (or T-racks 4 before it) had different plugins included than what T-racks 6 has. Thus those old plugins that were part of that old bundle aren't included. For instance the Fairchild, which is super old. That one doesn't get recognized by T-racks 6 as being owned. It's quite weird. Same with the old yellow clipper and EQ. For some reason they aren't being recognized as being owned.. yet some of the other yellow modules are. Go figure.

IK Multimedia has one of the most convoluted bundle/plugin systems out there. Quite bizarre they don't seem to have the skill to fix their mess.

Which version of TRacks 5 do you own (T-RackS 5,T-RackS 5 PRO or T-RackS 5 MAX)?
If you owned T-RackS 5 PRO or T-RackS 5 MAX it would make sense that not all plugins got updated to Version 6.

T-RackS 6 contains 19 Plugins:
Classic T-RackS Equalizer
Classic T-RackS Compressor
Master Match X
Black 76 Limiting Amplifier
British Channel
Bus Compressor
Channel Strip X
Classic T-RackS Clipper
Classic T-RackS Multi-band Limiter
CSR Hall Reverb
CSR Plate Reverb
EQ PA
EQP-1A Vintage Tube Program Equalizer
EQual
Full Metering
One
Opto Compressor
Saturator X
Space Delay

plus 5 Plugins:
-TRacks Lo-Fi Punch
-TRacks EQ81
-TRacks De-Esser
-TRacks Stealth Limiter
-TRacks Tape Echo

The Fairchild (Vintage Tube Compressor/Limiter Model 670) is still around but only included in T-Racks 6 MAX and Total Studio 4 MAX. And yes, the system is a mess. The fact that I can't just upgrade the plugins/bundle I own to Version 6 for an adequate fee, without buying the full TRacksMAX6 bundle again is just annoying.

I thought Pete from IKM recently said that if you own any paid version of TR6, that all your older than version 6 TR plugins will work in the TR6 host.
I understand that to mean that they aren’t upgraded, so if you run them standalone they haven’t changed.
So it’s just that the host works with them.
I don’t know what the licensing issue refers to.

Post

It’s so convoluted and confusing.

Btw I own literally every v5 module, and just a couple weeks ago v6 MAX was $29.99 for a day. This humble bundle is $29.99.

But can I just upgrade my v5 to v6 Max for $29.99? No. If I could I would have done that in day one.

This! They could make two options. Just update V5 to V6 1:1 or update with all the new plugins for a higher price.

Yes, exactly! Their sales and marketing teams seem determined to make everything as confusing as possible, and then I don't buy.

... and they keep splitting all the products (all&new) into the all possible options out there > so now we have a few modo bass v1 in the humble bundle that can never be easily upgraded.. I guess it's like fishing - you throw tons of different bait in to the open and wait ..
.. if you give up .. you'll end up in the shop buying the whole bundle > Fish & Chips + hopefully lots of Beers - Yay
