It does have its own flavour, but not sure it's going to add much against modern plug ins, especially if you're combining with comps, EQ and saturation etc.

I think SSL Flexverb gets some of that vibe and is great value if you can get it on sale. Valhalla Room with some EQ probably also not far off.

UVI Plate is a good one.
Raum sounds good also. It's free now, so that's worth noting.
bx_rooMS is one of my favs.
SP2016 is another one on my short list.

Eventide Blackhole – for huge hall reverbs
Valhalla Vintage Verb or Lexicon for large/medium room reverbs
Valhalla Room – for short room reverbs

There is also this one, sounds great.

For really short/small rooms you should use a QRS model

I bought the iZotope Equinox crossgrade, so it's now the best (for me, for now). I've always liked the Exponential Audio reverbs.

I've been a fan of the EA reverbs for years, and I was one of the beta testers. I think Equinox is great, now they finally put both EA algorithms in one plugin and improved the interface, IMO. I'm trialing it right now but I will probably end up buying it for $39. I just wish the interface were resizable.

You don't need reverb any more, ditch all your old software and hardware reverbs and go naked.
It's what all the top producers are doing right now.

The biggest issue for me with iZotope plugins (and that makes not buy them) is resizing. Even their plugins that can be resized, it's not a true resize. I mean the analyzer section goes big (Ozone 10) while all the other UI elements stay the same. And when I resize it to fit to my screen it becomes extremely laggy.

I also tried Equinox yesterday, but the "Continue with Trial" button wasn't even clickable because it didn't fit the screen. I had to make my Windows scaling 100% to fit it. Then the whole GUI went nuts. I tried a few presets, but I didn't like the way it sounds. So, I deleted it.

I'm good with Valhalla.

Been enjoying MIR. Definitely a different beast, but the potential for realistic depth is quite worthwhile.

Get the free Soundtoys plugin "Space Blender". Seriously one of the best reverbs I've heard, very easy to use, very much free as well.

I can recommend Stratus3D/Symphony 3D by iZotope/Exponential Audio.
They recently got replaced by the new Equinox reverb (which now features unmasking features introduced in the latest iZotope plugins such as Aurora, Velvet etc. on top of the already great Sound Engines from Stratus and Symphony) but they still sound great nevertheless.

These two plugins come with decent customization options, (you can tweak early refl. and tail time )have in built additional
a lot, and I mean a lot of presets (at least 1000 each I think). Ah yes, it also supports surround setups.
There is no "best reverb", but these two comes pretty close if you ask me.

I don't love the look of the GUI, and all the tweakable parameters make them pretty intimidating, so they're never the ones I reach for first. But every single time I load one of them up, I end up using it. Anytime I have trouble finding the right reverb sound, I end up using one of these and getting it almost immediately. I can't explain it.
