I liked the video and it did bring back some decent memories of my old hardware bedroom setups.
I feel like the video guy explained a few things that I had been feeling but just couldn't put a finger on.
It's also wierd for me because I DID learn how to record on 2-inch multitrack tape in college.
And we did learn a little bit about degaussing the heads and tails out and stuff like that.

But it's ironic how so much of that era got swept downhill by computers.
When the dude showed his AKAI digital multitrack I got chills because I coveted those kinds of machines so hard.
I know I shouldn't worry about it, but I'm still jealous of people with big ole' consoles. LOL :D
It's ridiculous, yeah I know. But I still groove on seeing that old gear that I trained on.

Anyways, I was thankful that it wasn't yet another analog vs digital thing.
I think the main idea about "committment" might be true even though it can happen to people on computers too.
And I would agree that using an old fashioned console can add a lot to the sound, such as de facto binaural EQ --oops I mean dual mono EQ... (because the EQ wasn't stereo linked and it was hard to match EQ's so you just did your best).
