The person didn't elaborate, just asked to talk with the dev. It likely isn't that good an idea to go public with it before even trying to reach the dev bc ppl could then exploit it. But we don't know if it already has been exploited. So if Tytel isn't going to get involved with it then maybe it'd be better to make it public to give them a bit pressure and warn people about it.

Well if someone said something cryptic on discord with zero details it must be real and importantAlQuzMar wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 9:42 amThe person didn't elaborate, just asked to talk with the dev. It's not like people make these claims every day. We don't know, it might as well be real and important. We wouldn't be having this discussion if there actually was means to contact the dev without getting lucky with it. Then ppl wouldn't need to ask about it on Discord.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 10:25 pm Well if someone said something cryptic on discord with zero details it must be real and important

people have been making all kinds of claims about how the developer of their free plugin won't respond to a myriad of requestsAlQuzMar wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 6:47 pmIt's not like people make these claims every day. So let's invent the mysterious "security" flaw that involves a plugin used in your DAW, let's give out zero information so it can further fuel speculation on how much the developer of the free plugin we have won't respond or something
The Security threat of any plugin downloaded from a an official source is exceeding low
The security threat from a cracked copy of some paid software you are downloading from some shady web server as zip file or an executable installer is significantly higher

Who's the conspiracy theorist now? Someone reported finding a security vulnerability, and you're dismissing it as some plan to spread FUD. It's entirely possible for a plugin to have vulnerabilities. For instance, a bug in the deserialization code could be exploited by a malicious patch you download. Simply reporting a possible vulnerability is not suspicious, and keeping the details private so that the developer has a chance to fix it before anyone starts exploiting it is good reporting practice. So give your suspicions a rest until you have more information, hmm?IvyBirds wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 7:56 pm So let's invent the mysterious "security" flaw that involves a plugin used in your DAW, let's give out zero information so it can further fuel speculation on how much the developer of the free plugin we have won't respond or something

Hm, shouldn't this synth be considered as dead now, sadly?

It has clearly been dead/abandoned for a while, especially considering several of the non-free perks (such as prioritized support, subscriber-only packs, etc.) are not delivered as promised. It's possibly even a breach towards the consumer but I'd let someone more certain of it handle that topic. Either way, deader than a doornail.Hanz Meyzer wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:27 am Hm, shouldn't this synth be considered as dead now, sadly?

Maybe the further development is dead, I wouldn't say so about the synth itself - talk about Synth1, Sylenth1, Odin2, TAL NoiseMaker ecc...Hanz Meyzer wrote: Wed Apr 23, 2025 8:27 am Hm, shouldn't this synth be considered as dead now, sadly?

It doesn't matter if it is called as dead or abandoned it's a great synth !
I have bought the plus pack years ago and rediscovered it.
Even in it's actuall state it has the best resynthesis results for wavetable synths worldwide. Especially for vocals and effects are the results fantastic, even better as these from Serum 1 or 2 and better as with Icarus or Hive.
The dsp oscillator modulators are also great and of course the overall userfriendly easy of usage.
The only thing I am missing is copying oscillators and saving effect modules on the fx page.
The only weakness with Vital are resonances in the LP BP and HP filter when it goes beyond 50 %. They have a bit plastic character.
The sound quality can even be improved with the EQ and Multiband-Compressor.
