Whatever happened to Muse Receptor ?!?!?

I used to think it was totally the future.
But now they're long gone?

The MuseResearch website is still up & running. It says "Copyright 2003-2016", but someone is still paying the web hosting bills. The "buy now" links go to plugorama.com. If you want that domain, you can buy it.

Anyway, what happened? Lots of things have happened. For example iPads and iPhones got more powerful, don't know whether they added VST3 support, anyway, people eventually didn't "buy it".

Off-the-shelf Windows PCs kept getting cheaper and faster - faster than a small company could update their custom Linux platform. Plus it didnt support every VST, nor do so as easily as the platforms those VSTs were coded for. Pretty sure I remember it needing custom support/packaging for the subset of stuff it did support.
Plus a relatively small target market, not necessarily perceived as such by a fairly ambitius-seeming company.
