This seems ideal for an iPad. I am waiting for that for now.

i tested this thing today and i dunno if i do something wrong but i dont see why to spend this price and also as a vst on a computer it just feels too limited and designed for mobile apps.
also the random function is really heavily disappointing, check how much it sounds very samey and also not well... i just uploaded the tuff genre and left out the lower 4 rows (also muted them) to check what melodies and bass etc. it creates...

a small video showcase:

Same. Though, it feels odd that it looks so different from something like Drum Computer. Thought it was another dev! :o

Tuff is really limited to serve the reggae/dub genre. Chords will be in the same place all the time and the bass also keeps playing similar patterns and melodies. I am improving the genres constantly, and I am open for suggestions here. Btw the next version will come up with 1 or 2 new ones.

Dub Techno. :D :tu:
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Apart from already mentioned Consequence "best off/Richard Devine" I would like some more "traditional" styles (must not be extra categories for evrything, could be in one "traditional" preset category with folk, country, r&b, rock, electronic....I know its not the main "modern" target of this but would be nice simply to have this for testing out sounds with the keeping sequence option for example).

Awesome!!!!! Looking forward to seeing that!

By the way, i may be hallucinating but did I see that you can save an individual pattern? Was just scrubbing through the video and can’t remember if that was possible. Having the ability to reuse patterns would be great. I stick to similar genre. I suppose it’s not that hard to re-enter data but having presets on patterns would help speed up workflow.
One slightly convoluted way of doing this is using the copy function in the Memories page. Copy and paste works across presets.

So you could open up a preset. Copy the relevant sequence and then paste into a blank part in your current project and grab the sequence from there.

One slightly unexpected behaviour is that copying a part by dragging the part in the memories page (beside the effect lanes) does not respect the All vs Selected setting.

It always copies the entire Part and not the selected lane. You can get around it by just copying each pattern individually but it would be handy to be able to copy all four pattern sequences at once.

I have one more request about midi export, not sure if possible at all and how much effort.

Case: when I drag 16 parts of my actual song that makes 64 bars (not beats, bars) in my daw. Now what I need for using the chords in other generative engines are the usual 8 bar chord progression to drag this from Dialekt into these other apps (midi clips from the daw wont work, it must be direct drag from Dialekt to the other apps).

For the first 8 bars this will work if I choose 2 parts for the export. But then I am stuck and have no idea how to go on with parts 3-4, 5-6 and so on. But I want to keep the songstructure thats generated in Dialekt for other tracks.

So it would be great if you could set a range of parts to export (1-2, 3-4 and so on).

Post

If I understand correctly, you want to export Parts 1-2, and after that you want to export Parts 3-4 for example.
The export works like if you were just hitting play in Dialekt.
So set the Song Sequencer to Length 2, and let it play Parts 1-2 for the first drag and drop,
then set it up to play Parts 3-4 for the second drag and drop.
Alternatively you can just swap these Parts around on the Song Page or Memory Page and leave the song sequencer as it is.
Hope that helps!

That sounds great and exactly what I am looking for, but I am afraid I just cant figure out how to set the song sequencer to parts 3 AND 4 ?

If I use the lock step pin button I can make part 3 OR part 4 play, clicking on the part numbers does nothing like clicking on the part patterns in the line at the bottomn. I looked in the manual but I found nothing there. Mabe some shorcut combinations ?

Would be great if you could give a short explanation "how to"

Post

1. You want to export Part1-2 first, and Part 3-4 after.

2. Set Song length to 2. Part Sequencer plays Part 1, then Part 2.

3. Export this (2 Parts Export Length).

4. Set the Part Sequencer so that it plays Part 3 on the first Step and Part 4 on the second Step.
Just dial the numbers in the Part Sequencer, so that the first number is 3 and the second number is 4.
Repeats must be 1, so each Part plays once.

5. Export this.

Thanks a lot :tu: , I oversee the obvious solution just changing the parts instead of selecting something. I dont even have to change the song length (cause I want to keep the structure of the song with its 16 length in total), enough to (obviously, sigh....) set the first two parts to the one I want. And as in my case from 9 to 16 its only reppeating 1 to 8 thats really easy and quickly done :-)

Are there any chances that you will support Linux? :)
