Have you tried enabling OpenGL?:

C:\Users\[USERNAME]AppData\Roaming\Vengeance\VPS Avenger\

Open "config_v2.xml"

Change the OpenGl line to: "<UseOpenGL value="true" />"

I think it just enables the OpenGL renderer in Avenger 2 (though I have no idea, the Vengeance Sound support rep told me to try it). I had a similar issue where Avenger 2 would have extreme latency upon opening and switching presets, but enabling it made everything snappy again. I'm using FL Studio and not Cubase, so ymmv.

So I tried that, sadly it didn't work. Avenger took around 20 seconds to load initially, but then subsequent closing & opening was OK so I was almost hopeful, but then it went back to the previous behaviour.

I guess I'll have to wait & see what support come back with... Thanks for the suggestion though!

So in case it helps others... Andre in support sorted the issue. I had a network drive that wasn't connected (i.e. show up in Network but not useable) & this was causing the lag. I deleted the drive & Avenger now behaves correctly.

I sent a few freezedump files through & that helped diagnose the issue.

or mad at Bigtone that they reproduced his sound so well...

btw I'm really digging the bass sounds, as usual coming from Bigtone. I'd love to know what these guys are using for monitors. They're just getting the basses right.

Why would Avenger care about an unattached drive?
