Recently Avenger takes a long time to load, & when closing down the GUI & reopening, it can take up to 25 seconds for it to reopen. Occasionally it opens quickly.
During the delay to reopening, Cubase locks up completely.
Once open it's absolutely fine.
Support have initially suggested my PC &/or graphics driver is at fault, but I doubt that. All other plugins are fine (including Arturia's graphics-heavy stuff).
Anyone else experiencing this? It's been fine for ages, odd that it's suddenly started to do this.
I've uninstalled & reinstalled Avenger, & also reinstalled by previous version of Cubase (v13) & the behaviour is the same.
PC specs: W11, 64GB RAM, AMD 5950X CPU, Nvidia RTX 3070 GPX (all drivers up to date).

I think it just enables the OpenGL renderer in Avenger 2 (though I have no idea, the Vengeance Sound support rep told me to try it). I had a similar issue where Avenger 2 would have extreme latency upon opening and switching presets, but enabling it made everything snappy again. I'm using FL Studio and not Cubase, so ymmv.FJ5 wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 6:41 pmHey, no I haven't. So I tried that, sadly it didn't work. Avenger took around 20 seconds to load initially, but then subsequent closing & opening was OK so I was almost hopeful, but then it went back to the previous behaviour.
I guess I'll have to wait & see what support come back with... Thanks for the suggestion though!

So in case it helps others... Andre in support sorted the issue. I had a network drive that wasn't connected (i.e. show up in Network but not useable) & this was causing the lag. I deleted the drive & Avenger now behaves correctly.
I sent a few freezedump files through & that helped diagnose the issue.

Jean-Michel Jarre would be proud...
or mad at Bigtone that they reproduced his sound so well...
btw I'm really digging the bass sounds, as usual coming from Bigtone. I'd love to know what these guys are using for monitors. They're just getting the basses right.

Why would Avenger care about an unattached drive?FJ5 wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 3:03 pm So in case it helps others... Andre in support sorted the issue.
