Sounds interesting, they nailed lots of original character. Since the original DSP code is lost, there will be no true emulator so this is nice.

First question: can it load JP-8000/8080 patches?

The multi arp is wonderful. The presets are iffy in many of them are really harsh and bright. Dialed down I find it sounds better. Still a bit boomy in the low mids though. Needs an EQ on the channel insert.

I'd like to see the multi-arp incuded in Analog Lab, so I can use it on other instruments.

hmmm i will wait for the comparisons to the hardware, i cannot remember my old JP8080 sadly but somehow from the demos i heard so far it doesnt sound as good as the hardware, can be my wrong memory though, im gonna wait and also i am more confident in Adam's work. his Viper Emulation is just fantastic!

I wanted the hardware 8080 when it first came out, but never got one.
I remember at that time it sounded a bit plasticky to me.
Arturia's sounds pretty good, but not much there that I don't have access to with other stuff.
It's fun to look at for nostalgia reasons though.

The filter Is wrong, they didnt emulate any of the JPs onboard chorus effect (they just did a generic one), they dont have the "wide" mode on the osc 2 semitone, you cannot do any cool sync sounds without it, and its only a single layer, so you wont do any "performance" patches with it"

It's early to tell, but it seems this thing is really good!
I don't care about comparisons with HW JP.
Plugin feels and sounds like a real instrument, presets are playable, interesting.
Sound is rich, VA, but still simple and kind of "dirty". Superstring reminds me of late 90s.
CPU/ASIO usage is low.
As far as I'm concerned, we now have everything: Virus TI, Nord Lead, JP-8000, JD-800, Triton, Multipoly & other Korg stuff, Waldorf stuff, various analogs, etc.

We don't have it if it doesn't sound like the hardware. And it doesn't. (Neither does Roland Cloud's JD-800, it misses the mark from the actual thing a lot.)

It sounds very close but missing that extra oomph, but I generally hear this problem on most sw emulators. Some do it better then others. The whole Roland library of software emulation has this issue also, especially with tb303 and jd-800. It just doesn't have the same mojo as original. However waldorf did nail it with their sw version it sounds the same, including hw mojo in the box. So it can be done.

Did arturia nail it? Almost. Will Roland nail it better? No. Am I happy there's a jp8000 in the box? Oh man. I'm giddy

Loads of BS...
I have CPU from 2012 and ASIO goes to 35% max. It's usually around 15%.
Perhaps it's not 100% percent emulation but it sounds really great.
Load two or more instances and you have "performances".

Don't look at ASIO meter, look at Task Manager.

Also, if anyone knows the actual hardware device, it would be Adam, and he wouldn't be bullshitting. So zip it!

I mean that's a hard comparison because you cannot bypass the filters on Diva, it only has the oscillator part...
