A biased review. JP 8000 is not authentic emulation at all.

audio/fault wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:39 pm ok, played the first presets of Jup8000v (in Analog Lab Pro) and i'm already in love. but i'm a sucker for late 90s trance :D
Where did you get the presets for those? It hasn't been released yet..
If you have updated Analog Lab Pro through ASC then the presets are available through that even if you don't have the plugin yet
Is anyone getting a missing samples error for MiniFreak presets in Analog Lab Pro after doing the update? I I keep getting this error whenever I select a MiniFreak preset:

"The following samples were not found:"
"Factory/WT/Factory/Basic Waves.raw
"Factory/Samples/Factory/KEY Malloctav.raw12b"

Do you need to own the actual hardware synth? If so not sure why they have those presets showing up in AL Pro if the synth is required. Anyway, glad for the other presets that were added.

The more I see about "Pure LoFi" the more turned off by it I become, especially the crappy noise generator thing that is a silly gimic

I was excited it would be a sampler with an old school vibe, instead it's a hipster piece of garbage based on nostalgia for things that never existed

I may be old, but there is nothing vintage, nostalgic or even authentic sounding about the obviously fake vinyl record noise and the hiss that it makes and nothing in the 1970s-,1990s sounded like that

...and ASC just crashed
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Thank you, all, for being Arturia beta testers. I look forward to buying this next year at half off the current discounts in a more mature software version.

Wait, you’re mad that fake vinyl crackle doesn’t sound like real fake vinyl crackle?
Fantastic! One less gatekeeper confusing personal taste with universal truth, a win for everyone. May your analog bitterness rest in peace while the rest of us make music in the present.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if this has already come up.. but is the 'Pro' tier a new thing? I don't remember it. I don't mind an LE intro version but I hope they don't go the way of NI.

I look at it differently.

Noise is a texture that's part of music. The scrape of a bow on a violin or cello, the noise of full tile cymbals, the fact that nearly every synth has a noise generator.

I don't see the difference between something like that and choosing another type of noise like vinyl crackle, tape hiss, machine humming. It can be very evocative.

The start of Teardrop by Massive attack is a drum loop with some really prominent dirty vinyl noise. I think the song would be worse off without it. I have no idea if it's actually the sound of the vinyl from the sample or whether they added it later and I don't care. It works.

Also I can distinctly remember playing shitty records or listening to super degraded soundtracks on a failing VCR player. It definitely plays into nostalgia but there is absolutely nothing wrong with playing into nostalgia or replicating aspects of music we listened to and how we listened to it.

New name for what the collection was; I guess they chose to name the tier to differentiate from Intro tier, basically.

when you play shitty records or listen to a worn out tape on a failing VCR you get an organic and happening in real time, it sounded like a natural artifact because it was a natural artifact

If you want to use that in your productions awesome. Artists like Board of Canada do an amazing job if it

But let's not pretend having a drop down menu to add a fake sounding sample of that that will end up sounding exactly the same as everyone else who uses the same fake sounding sample is somehow the same

With Pure Lofi what we get is just like with Augmented, it's Pigments with a different skin and a few tweaks. That noise is just a dumbed down version of the Utility Engine in Pigments

If that's you thing awesome. I do think you would get better results however just making your own samples of noisy scratchy records and tapes or even using tools that Arturia already have like Mello-Fi

;-) > haha  .. I actually thought , seeing the earlier 'PureLoFi' screenshots that it'll load all the released Augmented series sounds into it and it'll be more like a creative sample manipulation vst ala wave's cr8 with a cowbell of course at the end of the fx chain..
There is enough in the FX5 to have fun with. I guess the impatient & very excited will go for the v11 right away > there is enough in the v10 to have fun until BF I guess...
