New name for what the collection was; I guess they chose to name the tier to differentiate from Intro tier, basically.
I'm not upgrading until it's The V Collection Pro Turbo Max+

$99 for me, just got it.

Can you now mix articulations from different Augmented instruments in one patch?

It cannot, Arturia are hit and miss with this feature. the SQ80 can, the Matrix 12 cannot etc. :?

Unless it's a limitation of the demo version, the Jup-8000 V cannot import JP8000 presets. There is no "Import..." option in the upper left hamburger menu on the Jup-8000 V.

If there really is no way to import JP8000 SysEx data, then this is an epic fail on Arturia's part. What's the point in creating an inferior-sounding "supersaw" synth (compared to any number of modern synth plugins with supersaw waveforms,) unless it can read the huge library of mostly free JP8000 sounds?

I would rather have the discoDSP Corona if that is the case.

Hopefully, the missing Import option is just a restriction on the demo version. But if so, even that is a bit dumb. I would want to test how well the Jup-8000 V reads JP8000 patches before upgrading.

V Collection Pro Turbo Tax usually goes on sale after April 15.

Historically loading and saving non factory presets has been disabled on Arturia demos, doubt they would change this policy now

I think I remember Adam Szabo saying his will. I don't know if Chro-8080 can but I don't see how they could since it's Reaktor-based. Jup-8000 V has many differences with the original, in both good and bad ways, and I don't see how they'd be able to import patches.

It sounds completely different from the JP-8000. On the plus side, it can load samples so you could conceivably be running JP-8000 samples of the original patches through those same patches (it's actually something I've always wanted to try).

Well, despite the enthusiasm for a JP8000 emulation on these pages, this is another dud V Collection upgrade from Arturia for me. IMO, the JP8000 is probably the least interesting and least needed synth that Arturia could have emulated. I would rather use osTIrus, Spire, Dune, Hive, Sylenth, Falcon, Serum, Omnisphere, and even Avenger over the Jup-8000 V (and this is after playing through the patches in the demo version). For some inexplicable reason, I bought a JP8000 in the late 90s. I sent it back after a couple of weeks because it sounded terrible compared to my Virus, Nord Lead, and AN1x. Jup-8000 V does not sound any better.

I had already demoed Synthx V and that is a snoozefest to my ears. What's strange is that I own the Cherry Audio Elka-X and find it sounds a bit more interesting. It's not my favorite synth emulation by any stretch of the imagination. But it sounds more vibrant to me than Arturia's Synthx V.

I was a little intrigued by Pure LoFi when I first heard about it, even though I don't write many Downtempo or Ambient tracks that might benefit from those types of sounds. But Pure LoFi is also a nothing burger. It sounds like modern sounds with the top end rolled off by an EQ and a bit of tape hiss or vinyl record crackles layered in. If the Pure LoFi presets sounded like vintage Depeche Mode circa Black Celebration, that would be cool. But not this lofi Jazz schlock.

So that leaves Augmented Mallets (whatever) and the upgraded SEM V plugin. I like what Arturia has done with SEM V in the screenshots on their site. I like that they are incorporating some of the modulation features of Pigments into their newer plugins. (They should go back and update all of them this way.) But I can't try out the new version of SEM. It isn't available to download in Arturia Control Center. SEM V isn't even listed in My Products. Does anyone else have this issue?

$99 for my upgrade as well. Installing now. Hoping next time they take on the Alesis Andromeda.

Looks to me like the major upgrade to the SEM V is the new polyphony, turning it into a pseudo Oberheim 8 voice. Competing half heartedly with the Cherry audio and Softube versions.

I'm with you. Jup-8000 is OK, but nothing to write home about. Mini v4 is a dud. Minibrute V is interesting, but I'm not dying to get it. I think if my upgrade price was $199, I might, but for me it's $299, and there are just not enough interesting stuff to get me to upgrade from v9. Oh well.

The SEM V3 (I think it's version 3) looks like a pretty significant upgrade. It's now more advanced than the Cherry Audio, GForce, and even the Plugin Alliance versions. (As far as I know, Softube doesn't make a SEM emulation.)

The new modulation system looks pretty cool in SEM V3. It's nothing revolutionary. But being able to drag and drop mod sources onto destination parameters like you can do in Pigments is handy.

FWIW, GForce’s 8-Voice is the OB-E.

And the top dog - GForce OB-E

(oops - Uncle E got there first).
