Haha I have the exact same Casio MT-65!!! At this point, it's the piece of music gear I've owned the longest, got it new back in the day. It's on this played through a bunch of pedals/rack FX along with an Alesis Ion. https://olokun.bandcamp.com/track/status-crowjustin3am wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 9:42 pm Here is a shot of the setup I will be using for my next few performances.
Much easier to move around than the big Buchla, Serge, Elektron and mixer cases I was lugging around last year.
I'll still be using the big rig in the future but my upcoming performances are supporting an EP I'll be releasing this spring, which covers a different sound/style than most are used to hearing from me. I can't wait to share!
Sound-generation-wise I think it's the best of the non-CZ Casios, IIRC it's phase distortion under the hood. The mono bass has the most ripping midrange bark, and the auto-accompaniment riffs are just so very OTT, like a coked-up Holiday Inn lounge act desperate to get laid! I have some catching up to do in the Buchla, Serge and Elektron department tho'...

Looks like a fun live rig Justin. I'll keep an eye out for the new EPjustin3am wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 9:42 pm Here is a shot of the setup I will be using for my next few performances.

That's how those old Casiotones should be played... through a bunch of pedals and effects. Yeah, the MT series are mostly very primitive digital synths. I've used the drum patterns on a few of my tracks. I thought that the bass section was analog but I recently learned that was only the case on the MT-400.
I'd never pay more than $50 for these things but people are selling them for real money now.

Current euro rack

Right in the goldielocks zone of not too big to be able to pick up and move to the couch

Seems like it was made for top of two-tier stand.

I bought the Opsix (mk1) super cheap, but after Push 3, I put it in a corner with intentions to sell it. I think it’s time to bring it out again.thecontrolcentre wrote: Sun Jun 22, 2025 11:04 pm Took a few more pictures today ...

Man, bad news, the display stopped working. I just wanted to see what version of firmware I was on.thecontrolcentre wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 5:20 pm I got my Opsix v1 pretty cheap too (£200). Just downloaded the v2 firmware update, bu haven't installed it yet.
I'm pretty sure the warranty is up too. I found a reddit post from someone that replaced theirs, and I might have to take the chance of getting of the doing the same if I can find the replacement screen cheap enough. I guess that's why they were blowing them out so cheap.

Took these updated pics tonight. The new Mac Studio and the Novation Launchkey mk IV are there (with my Tele and VOX AC-15).
There's a lot of guitars and other gear not in the pics.
