OxyDSP presents OxyWave - a novel plugin for sample-accurate & beat-synced MSEG LFO modulation - perfect for:
  • Ducking
  • Gating
  • Beat Jump & Shuffle
  • Stutter, Repeat & Stretch
  • Scratch & Tape Stop
  • Half Time
  • Frequency Shifting
  • Filter Sequencing with 18 filter types
  • Amplitude & Ring Modulation
  • Panning
  • Imaging
  • and more.
Level up your workflow with three intuitively customizable MSEG (multi-segment-envelope-generator) modulation stages, which feature 15 different transition types between points and can be processed in a wide variety of layouts, such as:
  • Up to 3x Multiband (HQ Linear Phase crossover)
  • Up to 3x Series
  • Up to 3x Parallel
  • Left/Right
  • Mid/Side
Perfect Modulation
Intuitively build your modulation LFO curve by placing points and skewing the transitions between them. Easily swap stages and shapes using the various copy & paste, write and swap flows.
Use the selection feature to edit points in bulk.
Choose from 15 transition functions per point - from linear and smooth curves with exponential skews to periodic LFO-style transitions.
Further transform the shapes at sampling level creatively with the Rate, Bend, Fade & Skew and Offset modifiers. The Tight parameter let's you quickly tighten up the modulation.

Powerful Sync & Retrigger
The MSEG LFOs sync to the host playhead and can run either as rhythmic fractions of the host tempo or at a frequency of up to 5 kHz.
Let them loop perfectly with the host or retrigger them with 4 different behaviours using the transient-detection-based Audio Trigger with in-depth customization (internal or external sidechain) or the MIDI Trigger with optional velocity processing.
Use the manual retrigger latency compensation to create lookahead effects or to overcome your DAW's PDC shortcomings.

Near Endless Possibilities
Each stage allows you to modulate the following processors:
  • Volume (Ducking, Gating, AM and RM)
  • Time (Shuffle, Stutter, Half Time, Scratch, Tape Stop)
  • Shift (Frequency Shift, Phaser)
  • Filter cutoff, resonance, spread & mix
  • Pan & Width
With the different processing layouts this becomes a modulation powerhouse, from various utility patches to creative multi FX chains and sequences.
It's also the first plugin of its kind to support multiband processing with a Linear Phase crossover - ideal for processing bass and other phase-critical sounds.

Deep Filter Module
OxyWave features an extensive modulatable filter module with typical clean utility filters with a slope of up to 96 db/oct, such as:
  • Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Notch
  • Low Shelf, High Shelf, Bell
as well as non-linear resonant ladder filters and creative FX & sound design filters, such as:
  • Phaser, Comb, Flanger
  • All Pass, Disperser, Disperser Comb
Use the filter in combination with the MIDI Trigger for pluck effects or create deep stereo modulation using the Spread parameter.

Advanced Smoothing
Conventional MSEG LFO smoothing algorithms always drag behind the original modulation, which tends to result in spikes when missing the LFO start and potentially offsets the rhythm.
OxyWave's algorithm counters these issues by giving you full control over a latency-free lookahead parameter, which allows you to move the smoothing forward in time, relative to the smoothing amount.
By default, the smoothing is also scaled by the LFO frequency, which produces more consistent results at a wide range of settings.
The smoothing is also designed to not produce overshoots.

Take It External
The plugin supports direct output of each stage's modulation signal directly to dedicated plugin CV outputs.
Those can be routed to external devices or effects that support modulation from audio signals to control their parameters.
The CV output can be either unipolar or bipolar.

Wow, looks really cool!

Seems like a really cool thing. It seems like I have it covered in a few ways (most seems like mxxx could do it) already but I'll probably give it a try. Did I miss something in the video or does it do any kind of granular or fft based pitch shifting?
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

The time effects sound very good to me, and I have a lot of time effects... This sale is going to cost me some scratch I think.

Anyway, some folks might pay attention here, this is how you make a good shaperbox alternative,
I think anyway...

This looks absolutely awesome! Sounds super controllable and tight too! Well done!

EDIT: Wow! That CV output thing is awesome! Maybe it's even possible to feed it into NI Reaktor?

I use oxy meteor all the time and it's awesome

This looks fantastic. Very Clean UI and really well thought out feature. The routing options are fantastic.

Everything looks exceptionally well thought out.

It also sounds great.

Not a traditional pitch shifter, but you can achieve some grainy timestretching and resampling pitch effects with the Time shifter modulation (depends entirely on the curve shape/slope, will make sense if you mess around with it a bit), there are some presets that do it and a few sounds are shown in the video.

It's fairly grainy then (can be controlled with the smoothing, usually best with no lookahead) or depending how you set up the rate you might skip some stuff (think like half time set to 1 bar where it skips every other half bar).

Sometimes this more crude stuff can give interesting textures to sounds though.

Thanks! From a quick look, the FX version of Reaktor takes audio input that can be used as a modulator, so yeah that does work.

CV output also works in ableton with the CV tools suite.

Getting a crash in Ableton if I click on a band/split at the bottom

However, This only happens if I use the OpenGl setting which to be fair the plugin advises not to use by default.

Thanks for the report! The OpenGL renderer is really just intended as a fallback if the default native renderer creates issues.
The OpenGL renderer is usually noticeably slower on both Windows and Mac now, so probably no real reason to use it. It used to be a bit faster on Windows, which is why it was included in the first place.
Crash should of course not happen, will look into it.

There's no issue when I don't use the OpenGL option.

One thing that would be nice to see is a specific grid snap toggle button as opposed to having to hold the alt key for snap. This could also use the alt key to allow free movement if Grid snap is on.

Is there a way of copying/duplicating specific points or groups of points?

Some kind of step/shape drawing mode would be nice. ie. The cursor draws a shape that conforms to the grid's X width. This would allow for things like quick step sequencing.

You can select nodes & right click for various options, agree on a snap toggle button

I know you can have repeating patterns within a shape but I'm talking about drawing across the window behavior to make shapes.

Or this in Current

This is particularly useful for things like trance gates.

In both cases the size of the shape is dictated by the X grid size.

One of the standout features in ShaperBox is its randomization knob. Does OxyWave include a smart randomizer as well? Also, are all plugin parameters fully automatable and exposed to the DAW?

edit: just tried the demo, no randomizer, points are not automatable. Bummer!
