This thing is actually pretty good, you can get most types of granular sounds out of it, e.g. sparkly and ethereal, glitchy techno stuff etc, but you really got to dig down with modulation into the main control parameters. On board modulation isn't that great either...
It has a nice granular engine, but the design is oversimplified imo...

So is the respondent from Sample Logic merely delusional or deliberately stretching the definition of what an "instrument" is? Either is unacceptable (IMHO).4 days ago
Can it be played in realtime like a granular synth?

Yes you can play any audio source through it in realtime.

It’s definitely a granular effect and not a granular synth. Not bad, but slightly redundant if you already have Portal or Love by Dawesome. I wish they would make this distinction a little more clear for end users.Shabdahbriah wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 7:52 am"Weird" indeed.c0nsilience wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 2:37 am Weird, as the devs mention in response to a query on their YT overview video that it can be played like an instrument in realtime:

Just realized this: Perhaps this announcement was posted in the EFFECTS Forum because IT IS an effect (processor)!

I’ve contacted them about a refund. It isn’t a bad plugin, but redundant. Hopefully, support will follow through.
Lesson learned: don’t let your curiosity get the best of you
What little I played it, I did enjoy it more than Graindad, but ymmv.

Well, grabbed it too, being driven by that fact that this is can saving buffer into presets (and playing it).
But, was bummer, well i already wrote pair posts above.
Will not ask refund (never did regards plugs), just wrote to devs with request for optional ability for instant playing. Well, not a big hope but who know.
In general i liked plug, comfy\fun concept\visuals. The only thing he should be unlinked from transport.

All good as they won’t do refunds as explained by their support. They really need to offer a demo.
