That's pretty cool.

It’s YOUR OWN thread!

Do you just go around starting new threads anytime you see a new shiny?

Well this is something new in terms of news, whereas the thread you're referring to is more like an archive of DAWs in essence.

Doesn't work on my hardened W11 machine. I'll have to investigate.

A DAW from the 1990s whose latest version was 2011 is more ‘olds’ than news, so belongs in that disinterred archive.

I highly doubt anyone on kvr ( includng ) has used Sadie
It's a specialised daw primarly aimed for broadcasting ,red book audio , post production .. used by the bbc etc...
It ran on it's own dedicated hardware , company got into troubles when pc's became faster , bought up by Prism audio and now set free .
If you've never heard of it in the first place , why would you be excited now that it has become freeware ...?

Never heard of this one before and the UI and lack of VST3 support aren't exactly inviting me to give it a spin.
My solo projects:

It looks like Cool Edit reskinned. (This guy did this with Audacity and had the nerve to put it in the Microsoft store.)

Sadie is still quite common in High End Mastering.

Whoa. It has Direct-X plugin support. I wonder which other DAWs also have that, these days. I haven't considered it in a long time.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
