Well this is something new in terms of news, whereas the thread you're referring to is more like an archive of DAWs in essence.

A DAW from the 1990s whose latest version was 2011 is more ‘olds’ than news, so belongs in that disinterred archive.

I highly doubt anyone on kvr ( includng ) has used Sadie
It's a specialised daw primarly aimed for broadcasting ,red book audio , post production .. used by the bbc etc...
It ran on it's own dedicated hardware , company got into troubles when pc's became faster , bought up by Prism audio and now set free .
If you've never heard of it in the first place , why would you be excited now that it has become freeware ...?

Whoa. It has Direct-X plugin support. I wonder which other DAWs also have that, these days. I haven't considered it in a long time.
