OK, I just tried it. This one is really, really experimental. The concept is highly interesting but the presets failed to show anything usable for me. Too experimental imho. But I must admit it's good at metallic sounds.
And the demo noise is the most annoying I've ever heard in any demo software : it's showing all the time, and it's fading the sound of the synth away ! I had the feeling you have when cars or smthg are passing by and cover what you're saying all the time : wait for 5 seconds... talk... wait for 5 seconds... talk... I simply used the demo this way... that was boring guys.
Moreover, for some reason, the MPE presets just didn't produce any sound.
Just to be clear, it's not a rant in any way, it's just a feedback so maybe you could think about adjusting details if something wasn't planned this way. As far as I'm concerned I'm fine with what I'm using and I wish you success with your synth.

the noise is indeed to frequent and load, i assume it will be dealt with.DJErmac wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 4:47 pm OK, I just tried it. This one is really, really experimental. Thanks folks for the comments about the demo noise, that's my bad. I just pushed out a new version where it should be significantly less annoying (if not please do let me know).

Insta-buy! SO GOOD. This would have been very valuable for all the sci-fi engine and robot sounds I needed to make in the last two games I worked on. Instantly makes sense if you've ever worked in Unity or another 3d game engine. Fun!

Just a quick follow-up here -- I spoke to DJErmac, and the issue is that he was not using an MPE-capable keyboard. Anukari supports "strict" MPE according to the spec, which means that a "legacy MIDI" keyboard will not do anything for MPE presets. It may be possible to hack around this by changing the non-MPE keyboard to channel 2, but there's not much point because there are non-MPE versions of all the MPE presets which will work better with non-MPE keyboards anyway.DJErmac wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 4:47 pm Moreover, for some reason, the MPE presets just didn't produce any sound.
I know some synths have implemented a kind of half-workaround that diverges from the MPE spec a bit to allow non-MPE keyboards to do *something*. Maybe I'll look into that. (But then again, the vast majority of Anukari's presets don't require MPE, so it might not be that important.)
Thanks again to DJErmac for trying it out!

If I create and import custom 3D objects, will they have their own sound or sound character? I mean, is there some logic behind it like, if my 3D object is made of wood, would it sound like wood? Or if it's metallic, would it sound like metal, etc.? And if the sound doesn’t adapt to the physics of my model, then what’s the purpose of using custom models? I know this sounds like a stupid question
but how does a custom 3D model change the sound—or does it even do that at all? One other question, are there in-build randomization features?

I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of joe, but I'm doing a duet with it and sonicLAB's Thermo right now and the ghost of David Lynch just tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was OK.Cuauhtli wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:53 pmI'll have to check it out then.zerocrossing wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:43 pm Insta-buy! The 3D models are purely visual; they are a representation of the 3D physics model, but changing the texture on one of the 3D models to wood will not affect the sound. The purpose of customizable 3D models is to change the visual appearance. This is fun for making visually interesting videos, but also I've found that the appearance has an effect on what kind of music I make with it. For people who don't want "cutesy" visuals it can easily be configured to look barebones/no-frills.enCiphered wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 9:53 pm If I create and import custom 3D objects, will they have their own sound or sound character? (We've all seen people who share their beat or whatever on socials where it's just an OBS screenshare of an Ableton session. The hope here is that Anukari could provide something much more interesting to share.)
Regarding randomization features, there aren't any yet, but that's definitely on the list. The list is pretty long, though, so I can't make any promises how long anything might take to happen.

Great piece of software!
Really wish it’ll get all the attention it deserves from the “adventurous”.
Just “scratched” (no pun intended) the surface of it and already getting addicted to the journey.

Got it, thanks for the explanation. I tried the demo in Bitwig Studio and to my surprise, not a single parameter is exposed to the DAW. Is this a demo limitation? How can we modulate this thing?anukari-music wrote: Wed Apr 30, 2025 10:01 pmThe 3D models are purely visual; they are a representation of the 3D physics model, but changing the texture on one of the 3D models to wood will not affect the sound.
