I'm still weird midi issues in FL. Never happened before. Put a midi file in a VST, not was I was looking for, so I delete it. But the point in the song i'd placed the Piano Roll clip would instantly default Project tempo to the tempo the midi file was. It was strange. 140 bpm, then about 1"10 in it would switch to 128, even after the clip had been deleted. I had to revert back to a previously saved copy. Thank God for Autosave.

Finally got me a newer Windows 11 PC (Home 24H2). Almost everything works well, but I'm having issues with these plugins:

-D16 Syntorus

Version 1.31 won't stay activated.
Version 1.4 is not visible in DAW.

-Blue Lab Audio Gain Bundle

The VST2 plugins are not visible in DAW. I'll try VST3 later.

For some reason these do work fine on another Windows 11 PC (Pro 23H2).

Any ideas guys?

As with most newer versions of Windows, I have to turn off more and more stuff to make it usable. The fact that the hard drive is encrypted by-default with no user input in 11 pro is not good for audio work - slows down ssd access by as much as 45%.

But I have tools to fix this stuff for me and my clients now.

It's not encrypted here, is it because I installed Windows myself?

You can create a Windows installation ISO with BitLocker disabled and de-bloated.
My autounattend.xml has BitLocker disabled, check
viewtopic.php?p=9037785#p9037785
BTW, my autounattend.xml also removes Microsoft Teams, if you use it make
sure not to select for removal.

If you use Rufus to create installation media, Rufus will turn that option off by default.

No need, my scripts take care of all that. Rufus takes care of the bitlocker issue.
But largely I'm dealing with large numbers of client machines with Win11 already installed, so my scripts are more geared around existing installations and simplifying/optimizing them.

So I took the plunge and let it upgrade now. It turned out pretty scary. After allowing it to reboot and doing a couple of separate 0%-100% passes it just stopped with a black screen and a mouse pointer... It was movable, but nothing else was responding. After being pretty disappointed with the situation for quite some time, luckily I went away for maybe 10 minutes doing other stuff and when I got back it had actually booted up.

It seems to be working now, but man that upgrade experience is all but stream lined, don't they test these things?

To their credit, it did work, but that extended black screen had me thinking of force rebooting after having waited quite a while. It seemed completely locked up.

I had the blackscreen thing too when I upgraded, I just ignored it completely, seems to be the way of it.
