I have recently discovered this little FREE gem. It's a 100% clone of the original hardware (reverse engineering of the original chips) and load all sound cards from the JV-era, so you can gets tons of sounds.
I have tested it on my Mac and it works perfectly. Pity it doesn't have any control on the sounds/presets, so at the moment it's just a preset "player", hopefully the hardware part (controls, menu) will be implemented in the future...
It's freely downloadable from https://github.com/giulioz/jv880_juce but you'll need to find the firmware(s) on archive.org

That's awseome , the jv880 together with the jd990 are the best sounding romplers Roland ever made , to this date

well shoot, i've been trying to install this by watching his video with no luck for a couple hours. any kind soul want to give a step by step? i've got everything downloaded but can't get Logic to see the plugin.

It (the AU version) works here everywhere other than Logic, where it just crashes hard in the process block every time…
