I'm trying to use Waves F6 for the first time and mine doesn't look like the ones in the tutorial. Nor does it look like the one in the online F6 manual.

Every single tutorial I see for it, as well as the manual, shows a toolbar at the top with buttons like "VIEW", "RMS", "RESPONSE", "SLOPE" BANDWITH", "AVERAGING", "MA", "MAX", "SOURCE", "RTA", etc.

I've tried F6 in two different DAWs, and I don't have that toolbar up top, nor do I have any of those buttons. I also don't have any kind of spectrum analyzer display. I also don't have any display that shows the dynamic effect kicking in. In the video tutorials and in the manual, there is always spectrum analyzer display and a dynamics display. I can't get any such graphics to appear on mine.

I think mine was coded wrong or something because mine is just missing, well... everything. I've pressed every single button the GUI and none of these things ever appear. Do these parts of the GUI default to being hidden for some inexplicable reason, or is mine just broken? Like I said, I've spent about an hour pressing EVERY SINGLE button in every single menu i can find, and I can't get these parts of the plugin to appear. It's like I have a version of the F6 that no one else on earth has.

If it doesnt look how you expect, show us what it looks like. Post screengrabs.

And post useful info. Your OS, which DAWs you tried, what version the plugin it is, what type of plugin (VST? VST3? AAX? AU?) etc. etc.

Do you have F6 or F6 rta?

Correct - the RTA component/plugin needs to be loaded in order for these parameters to be available (as these are all RTA-related - check the manual). If F6 is installed, it (i.e. RTA) should automatically be made available to the host via the shell. (There should be 4 versions per plugin-type - both RTA and non-RTA, each as Mono and Stereo.)
Waves F6 Real Time Equalizer (RTA)
To increase F6’s precision and ease of use, we added a simple-to-use, feature-rich Real Time Analyzer (RTA) that
creates a real-time visual map of your audio. This provides a fast and accurate way to interpret the signal and set F6
parameters. It also gives you immediate feedback about how your settings are affecting the sound. RTA is highly
adjustable and all of its controls are visible at all times on a toolbar; you can easily change how the sound is being
interpreted, in real time.
